“Wonderful place in a wonderful location”
Reviewed 11 June 2018 for a stay in May 2018

We had a fantastic stay at Spout Barn. The location is great, the welcome warm and the accommodation wonderful. We were warmly welcomed by Joanna who was also quick to respond to questions leading up to our arrival. The accommodation was clean and we were given a quick tour to orient us to the place. Spout Barn is located in some of England's most impressive countryside and driving through the small lanes whilst exploring the area was delightful. The location is great for getting to historic towns like Bakewell, to small villages like Tissington and great old houses like Chatsworth. It seemed like everything was about 20-30 mins drive through great rolling hills. Spout Barn was great in that we could get supplies in Wirksworth and then cook breakfast before we left and make dinner once we got back at the end of a day out. However, there were plenty of great pubs and other eating places nearby if we wanted to eat out or order pizza to bring back. We had six of us staying here and we all fitted in comfortably. The accommodation is spacious and well designed. We had privacy in your own rooms and never felt like we were 'on top of each other' while all in the house together. If we plan to return to this area, I would absolutely reserve Spout Barn again.

“Lovely!”

Away from the city, noise and polution is heaven, but you can't do it without a car. So glad we planned and ordered all our food in advance and the delivery arrived on time. We loved all the artistic interior touches and the warmth the barn provided, even though it was white outside. Everything was in good working order and the children loved the upside down character of the barn. Well worth a stay.

Spout Barn is a wonderful place to stay. Jo the host kitted the place with everything from a to z and designed a lovely and beautiful home.
It's big enough for 8 and has 3 bathrooms.

Jo and her partner Steve were absolutely awesome hosts and helped us with 4x4 to get around in the snow and with groceries. Absolutely fantastic and lovely stay and we were so chuffed with them.

“Excellent Accomodation”
Reviewed 5 December 2017 for a stay in December 2017

Just returned from a four-night stay and had a relaxing and quiet stay. The Barn is excellent with everything you need- in an extremely quiet location for those who need a rest from everyday life! A few miles from Ashbourne and Matlock and we did some Christmas shopping in Derby about 30mins away. Cant recommend the Barn highly enough- we will definitely be returning.

“Lovely location and facilities, great for families.”
Reviewed 30 October 2017 for a stay in October 2017

We had a lovely relaxing weekend break here with the family. The barn is very nicely refurbished and has all the amenities that you need; great to have en suites for everyone and the large open plan living space was perfect for us all to get together in the evenings. There is lots to do and see in the surrounding area; as we had young children we chose places with plenty of space for them to run around, we visited the Tramway village at Crich, the National stone centre, walked up to Black Rock and visited Bolsover Castle. We Would love to go back in spring/summer and make the most of the outdoor space at the Barn, and the lovely surrounding countryside.
