This could be a lovely pub but sadly it is in dire need of a refurb, the seats had seen better days as they were split and the stuffing was coming out. The tables were sticky even though they had been wiped, when I put my arms on the table they stuck so did my phone. The meals were pretty average but value for money.

As much as we would love to spend money on refurbishment, unfortunately we have to make it to spend it, thanks for taking the time to kick us during these difficult times

We visited a week ago ,there was sanitizer on the bar ,as we booked by phone they had our contact details, service was slow, probably because the young lady behind the bar seemed to be doing everything, not a vast menu, had fish and chips batter was quite greasy

Rather shocked to see no acknowledgment of Covid chances. We weren’t asked for contact details for check and trace when eating in, no hand sanitiser, no signs for social distancing, drinkers sitting around both bars. Felt exactly like going into a bar in 2019

Food for 4 arrived rather spread out over a number if minutes. It was as if half the table had been forgotten.

Food quality generally below average. Wasn’t expecting anything fancy but all dishes where somewhat underwhelming which is a real shame given the beautiful location.

The pub would be super convenient for our week long stay here but won’t be returning.

Do you not rake the time to think before whinging. Social distancing etc makes things rake longer as you have to work with less staff.

We stay every year in Tideswell and the Jockey is always on our list of places to eat & drink and I have previously left good reviews. However in the post covid era things in this pub are not as they should be. No track and trace info was taken. People are congregating around the bar and so on. The worst part is the excessive rowdiness going on outside. The pub take no interest in asking their outside guests to drink up and move on when it's closing time and the partying (including fights, arguments and so on) continues into the smaĺl hours. This is in a residential area. Poor show on all counts.

We declined to eat there.

Stop your whining, people are enjoying themselves finally. If you don't like it go elsewhere.

Marie and the staff were very welcoming, loved the room with the fire it was nice and cosy. It would be nice if there was music in the lounge area or a TV and a nice fire as it got very busy in the room with the fire we are hoping to pop in again in the summer.
