Having wanted o visit this cafe for many months, we finally got there today. So glad we did.
Different mood zones/seating areas for various purposed visits, this cafe offers farmhouse comfort at one end, with industrial/scientific benched area to the other side. A naughty step is available here :-) .
7 tables outside, two outside, we sat comfortably straight away. The extensive menu gave the usual decision making problems. Twelve hot drinks listed before you go further! On the 'dresser', more options tempt you.
Ordering at the counter, we ordered smoked salmon with cream cheese sandwiches, both breads available, with a pot of tea. The two meals arrived very quickly, with superbly chopped fresh salad to the side. Lots of it too. Pleasingly, we could not detect any butter or alternative spread and wondered if the cream cheese had replaced this part of the meal? We did not become hungry at all during the afternoon, so realised that the bread had been made with a high quality flour. You won't need to order cake for pud - sorry.
Toilets are downstairs and are functional. Nothing spared or wasted in there. But hey are there. On your journey downstairs to this area, the kitchen are does become visible, all clean, with a delightful set of shelves therein, holding delightful vintage crockery.
Yes, I would go again. The three young people working here are doing well. One or two very minor points could do with a little tidying, but these people are busy. Footfall is evidently high and regulars use cafe this too. The food in the main does seem to be homemade. We did see the soup menu be extended today as more varieties became available throughout the time we were there today - you can see the foods being freshly prepared in the kitchen area.
Thank you for a lovely lunch today.

Nice little cafe that was full the entire time we were there, the owners are friendly and went out of their way for us.
Soup was delicious and the baguettes were very tasty!
