We were recommend this place to stay in our camper van if you have a meal which we did. We were made to feel very welcome by Chloe, really lovely and friendly, a dog friendly pub and the food is awsome. We had a mixed grill and it was the best we have ever had, huge, seriously tasty and really good value. The car park to stay in is very dark and quiet, just what we needed. The was a very good atmosphere in the pub and the food coming out looked very good. Will gladly come back here, thank you very much xxxx

This may not have been the best roast pork lunch I've ever had, but it was what I needed. Truth is, it was a little bland. However, the staff were down-to-earth friendly, and we felt welcomed and at ease, just what was needed after a day in the Peak District. I will go back and perhaps try a few different dishes to find out what their speciality is. The area is gorgeous and uncrowded. If you want a peaceful, easy meal and a pint, this is the place.

We stayed here in the campervan overnight. We had a meal and a few drinks overall the price was very reasonable. We had steaks cooked just as we liked them. The locals are very loyal to the pub and many of them told us how it was the best pub in the vicinity. We enjoyed a walk to Dovedale via Thorpe Cloud. If you like good company a walk in the peaks and good food this is the pace for you.

My husband and I visited this little gem on Sunday evening ,it was surprisingly busy and quite a few menu choices had sold out .
The ham egg and chips was huge but he cleared it up, my spinach and ricotta cannelloni was lovely and had more than enough home cooked chips. No room for dessert ,Shame x

We had a very nice lunch here with a good choice of menu. My only concern was the seating which for a disabled person was not very comfortable.
