We visited Swinside End at the end of October on the recommendation of a friend who lives locally. And what an amazing place it is. Karen is everything that you would want in a hostess and the whole place is absolutely immaculate.

We have been visiting the area for many years but the view from our room (Low Fell) has to rank as one of the best. It was absolutely impossible to find any fault during our stay (not that we were looking for any) and nothing but nothing was too much trouble.

We had three good days walking on the Fells and to come back to a log burner in the lounge was just bliss. Fortunately, we were the only guests that week so greedily had it all to ourselves.

Many thanks, Karen and Andrew for your hospitality and help. We would highly recommend Swinside End to everyone and will be back for sure next year

From the warmth of the welcome to the high quality of the furnishings and decor throughout the house, everything was nigh on perfect. Karen must be Superwoman to be able to combine being a busy farmer's wife, a perfect hostess, a wonderful breakfast cook, and a great gardener. It was particularly pleasurable to be able to stay in such elegant surroundings with the additional bonus of being witness to the day-to-day running of a busy working farm. - in fact lambing was in full swing, yet both Karen and Andrew were happy to chat and make us feel welcome. Our twin room, overlooking the beautiful garden, was spacious and elegantly furnished. We appreciated the provision of a comfortable guest lounge and conservatory. We shall definitely return.

Room Tip: The twin room was the largest, and had the best view of the garden including the busy bird feeder.

Ursula and I stayed here one night on a Saturday at the weekend (no problem for them for just 1 night at the weekend). We were cycling the Fred Whitton route over 2 days and they kindly allowed us to drop our bag the day before. Unfortunately we had a major mechanical so arrived by bus with broken bike again Karen allowed us to leave bike and bag to pick up later on Sunday afyer we had checked out. Andrew even gave us a lift to Keswick for the bus.
The room was marvellous with great touches like huge bed tv in the bathroom, dressing gowns everything and more that you need to be comfortable. Breakfast was also great.
We loved our visit and really appreciated extra helping hand and we will definitely stay again.....awesome

Karen and Andrew made us very welcome and comfortable at the B&B and also on their farm, where we were delighted by the new lambs and calves. The cleanliness, service and food were outstanding - thank you very much and we will be returning in the future.

This a lovely working farm. This B&B is very special. The views are spectacular, the breakfast really good and the rooms beautifully furnished. It is not far from the main road or you can walk straight out onto the fells. What more could you ask for.
