Karen and Andrew made us very welcome and comfortable at the B&B and also on their farm, where we were delighted by the new lambs and calves. The cleanliness, service and food were outstanding - thank you very much and we will be returning in the future.

This a lovely working farm. This B&B is very special. The views are spectacular, the breakfast really good and the rooms beautifully furnished. It is not far from the main road or you can walk straight out onto the fells. What more could you ask for.

We spent three nights here and could not fault it. It is just outside the village of Lorton on a quiet back road with spectacular views of the nearby hills.

The accommodation is second to none. Breakfast likewise. And yes, there are 'proper' serviettes in attractive rings on the tables.

This is a working farm with sheep, cattle and a few hens but don't let that put you off -- you don't have to paddle through a muddy farmyard to get to the house, and at no time were we disturbed by animal noises or smells.

If you want five star accommodation at a reasonable price but away from the busy touristy areas, give it a try. You wont regret it.

Anything at all to fault? If I were to be really nit-picking I would mention the loose toilet roll holder in our bathroom, but I'm sure Karen will have fixed that by now.

Room Tip: The twin bedded room has a view of the immaculate garden with the fields and hills beyond

Karen & Andrew excellent hosts, cannot do enough for you. This was our 4th visit to this wonderful guesthouse, nothing is to much trouble. Karen even brought us chocolate's & a bottle of wine in celebration of our marriage, will be visiting again very soon.

Karen and Andrew the proprietors are very warm and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. The house is spotless, the breakfast is plentiful, the scenery is jaw dropping. The rooms are tastefully furnished, firm beds, clean linen, all the toiletry essentials to make the stay pleasant and the room I take at the back has the most lovely large shower and a proper hair dryer! The double glazing keeps out the sound of the morning crows from the cockerel.

Karen has dried our clothes when sodden, prepared flasks for the day (ask the night before) and can do a pre packed lunch if you ask. Also, the gardens are gorgeous to walk in and the bird feeders near the dining room windows/doors are a delight to watch in the morning over breakfast.

They have a large guest lounge which is just like sitting in your own lounge at home - you feel totally welcome here.

If you are into your cycling, then the Whinlatter forest is moments up the road,
If you are into your fell walks, lake photos, birds then just step outside the front door and they are all right there waiting for you...

Room Tip: All rooms are nice! One room has a super king which divides into twin single beds
