We stayed at the Newby Bridge hotel this last weekend. There were three of us including our daughter who has learning difficulties. The hotel was welcoming, the room was very nice and the food was excellent but it is the staff who really make this a special place to stay. During our time there our daughter was challenging to say the least on a few occasions but ALL the staff were kind and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and they made our stay as enjoyable as possible. Our daughter does not usually behave in the way in which she did and we were so grateful for the supportive way in which we were treated. Thank you all so much. This is an axcellent hotel in a beautiful location and we would recommend it to anyone who visits the Lake District.

Thanks so much for bringing your family to visit us and for taking the time to post your lovely, 5* review. We believe the secret to our staff being so good at what they do is that we are like a family ourselves and we appreciate your lovely comments about them. Thank you for recommending us to others and we'll look forward to welcoming you back again we hope.

We enjoyed a delightful and tasty Sunday lunch here with friends. The food was plentiful and the Yorkshire puddings crisp and yummy! The carvery is highly recommended. We hardly had room for a desert so shared sticky toffee pudding with homemade honeycomb ice cream which was delicious.

The dining room was large, light and airy and the staff very accommodating and Attentive.

Had a drink first outside in the garden which overlooks the picturesque water.

Thank you for stopping in for our delicious Sunday carvery. We work hard to put on an excellent carvery every Sunday for our guests but also for the lovely locals who are regular visitors. Thanks as well for mentioning our staff, who work so hard and deserve your plaudits. Thanks again and we do hope you'll come by again.

A clean bright and lively hotel with very attentive and friendly staff I return every year with 3 friends and always find an improvement the refurbished dining room is bright and airy and very pleasant to enjoy your meals. Good facilities and I love the swimming pool which I use each morning. The grounds are well maintained and you can enjoy a drink on the terrace. Bedrooms very clean and beds extremely comfortable. All in all I feel it should be upgraded to 4 star in the not to distant future.

Room Tip: rooms over the reception and bar have superb views

We cannot thank you enough for your continued visits over the years and for posting your nice review. As a repeat guest, it's really good to read your comments about the improvements over the years and others should find them useful. We're happy to be a strong 3* hotel, with 4* leanings (and 5* service in our opinion!). Thanks again and we'll look forward to seeing you again next year.

The hotel is in a location and a short distance from lakeside where you can get a boat on the lake to Bowness.
The hotel is located on the main road, but set back with the car park at the front. The bedrooms at the rear of the hotel overlook the lovely gardens. At the front they overlook the road and lake. The only minor issue about these rooms are that the road noise on a night was a little loud at times.
The hotel is traditional looking and might come over as dated ,but we enjoyed the atmosphere here because it wasnt pretentious. It had a homely feel and was clean and tidy.
We ate in the restaurant the first night and the food was lovely. The breakfast was fine with plenty of choice and the bar was well stocked.
Enjoy a dip in the pool,it was just what we needed after a walk.Be aware that the changing room is small and has no lockers for your clothing.
Great little place and we will return again one day.
