Stayed here for our Mini Moon on the 9th December. On first impressions hotel was lovely and cosy....apparantly the owner loves xmas and you could tell as there were about 30 xmas trees throughout the hotel...rather than being over the top it just made it really Christmassy and we loved it. First our room The Tower suite...could not fault this fantastic view, big comfy bed and huge bathroom. Very luxurious and super clean. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming. The food at this hotel is amazing. We loved every meal we had and we even stayed an extra night as we wanted to enjoy another dinner. Afternoon tea by a cosy fire was superb...I could have stayed there for months just eating. On our first night we picked a particular table we wanted and the staff made sure that this was then available for all our meals...we then changed to a different table a couple of nights after and again they made sure this was always available. This small attention to detail really impressed us. The outdoor hot tub was fantatsic and me and my husband enjoyed a session each evening of our stay. We also enjoyed the pool and sauna. The scenery in this part of the world is beautiful and there are loads of nice walks you can go on if inclined. We wanted a winter hideaway where we would be completely chilled out and spoiled and this is what we got. I will be rebooking for our anniversary next year...we have stayed in countless hotels and this is by far one of the best. Hugely impressed

Room Tip: If you can choose the tower suite

I have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Lodore Falls and it was brilliant. Having stayed at the Inn-On-The-Lake last year i was keen to compare and was hoping to get the same standard of food/service/room etc. We were not disappointed.
The chocolates in the room were a nice touch for our anniversary, the room was huge so that there was space for our dog and the food was out of this world. We had views over-looking the Lake too.
We got a deal for 2 nights dinner, B&B and it was well worth it.
We were easily able to do Catbells walk from the hotel and the outdoor hot-tub after the walk over-looking the falls was amazing. I want to go back when it snows, can imagine how gorgeous that would be!!
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, the check-in was easy, restaurant and bar staff were exceptional and we were made to feel so welcome.
Will definitely return.
Whilst you're there please take a left from the hotel, around 7 mins drive to Honister Slate mine- what a great place. We bought a slate cake stand and cheese board but even better than the beautiful products was the story of Jan, the owner and what she is fighting for (in her husbands memory) currently to expand the business and increase tourism to Cumbria.
We will be back!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a Lake View

This hotel, is fantastic. We got married here in 2010 and have been back twice, every time we go back, the staff remember us and we don't get preferential treatment but the service is excellent.
The food is always gorgeous and with plenty of options. My in laws needed wheel chair access and stayed at the sister hotel The Borrowdale, they also received the excellent high level of service and attention to detail. The hotel is expensive but worth every penny. make sure you book the hot tub for aprivate 30 minute soak each night and sample the goose and the pigeon, both delicious.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view room, slightly more expensive, but worth it, to sit and gaze at the view with a...

My wife and i have just returned from Lodore falls having had an extremely comfortable New Year spent with fellow guests and the excellant Lodore staff. Everybody connected to the hotel made us extremely welcome and no request was too much trouble.

The food for the New Years Eve Gala Dinner was excellant and the Beef Wellington a triumph, however the meal was slightly ruined for us by a large party nearby who didn't know how to behave when presented with party poppers, balloons and blower whistles. It would have been nice if the management had stepped in and asked them to tone it down a bit!

Our room was superb, with even under floor heating in the bathroom and plenty of space.
The New Years Day walk was a challenge and well organised with the mulled wine and mince pies half way round extremely welcome.

This is a beautiful, unspoilt part of the Lake District and the Lodore Falls provides some good old fashioned luxury. Not cheap, but the good things in life aren't!!

A New Year break at this splendid four star hotel. The facilities, the food, the accommodation and the overall experience was fantastic. I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a bit of a luxurious break.
