Lovely modern peaceful golf hotel. Dinner was v good value when bought as part of the package, and breakfast set you up for the day with everything you could want available , all served by overworked but attentive and friendly staff. A bit of mould in the corner of the shower was the only fault in the room which was large and comfortable.Swimming pool and saunas were modern and spotlessly clean. I thoroughly recommend this hotel for those wanting a quiet place to stay in this area.

We stayed here for a one night relaxing getaway. We booked a special winter rate which included breakfast and dinner. Our room was a good size, the bed was huge and the bathroom was spacious with separate bath and shower. Strangely there was also a speaker in the bathroom which transmitted the sound from the tv!
We used the hotels spa facilities, the pool was quiet with loungers around it and the steam rooms and saunas added to our relaxation. We had dinner in the restaurant, it was quite quiet probably due to the time of year but the food was delicious and the service very good. Breakfast was of similarly high standard. We had a drink in the bar which was quite pricey but the surroundings were nice.
We also had a treatment in the spa which was very relaxing with lovely rooms and therapists.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would go back.

My husband and l have just arrived home after spending 2 nights and 3 rounds of golf at this hotel. The hotel was very comfortable and clean with quite spacious rooms and bathrooms. The food served in the dining room was very good and the staff polite and attentive.
The hotel golf course (Championship) is extremely long and hilly and is a true test of skill and nerve.
The Premiership course just up the road is fantastic with some very imaginative holes, equally hilly but not as long. We will definitely be retuning to play this course again when all the trees are in leaf as l'm sure it will be beautiful and even more challenging

Stayed at this Hotel for one night Friday 17 Feb and found it a lovely hotel in very pretty surroundings. The room was very large with a huge King size bed and excellent view over the countryside. The restaurant was first class with excellent service plenty of choice and at reasonable prices. The facilities available were really good and I will definitely be going back to play golf. It is in a lovely part of Cheshire, Tarporley wouldn't be out of place in Midsommer Murders and is only 20 mins from Chester. I would definitely recommend it for couples, families and larger groups.

We were booked into this hotel by a family member living in the area as we were attending a family celebration nearby. The booking was made several weeks before and we were informed by our relative that he had booked a number of rooms and had obtained a very good rate.

On arrival we found the very good rate to be £140 bed and breakfast. (compared with a rack rate of around £200)

The hotel is a fairly standard 'executive' four star hotel very similar to hundreds used by business people every night of the working week all over the world. Our room was spacious, clean and had all you needed without being in anyway special.

The hotel were in our opinion a bit mean with little things - no biscuits on the tea tray and no soap in the bathroom - just a very small sachet of shower gel.The mini bar was also empty. Maybe we could have got extra supplies but we literally checked in, showered and went out again so we never bothered, especially as we had our own toiletries.

What it does have is a golf course and a spa and based on impressions at breakfast most weekend guests are on some sort of golf or spa package. I'm not sure of the price of these but they probably represent better value than if you are simply using the hotel as a B&B.

The breakfast was very good. A substantial buffet with hot dishes being freshly cooked. We didn't use the '2 Michelin Star' restaurant but prices were more or less what you would expect for such an establishment. Bar prices are quite steep. The 'credit card surcharge' wheeze has reached this hotel.

Overall nothing to complain about but for a simple overnight weekend stay there are many equally good hotels with lower tariffs.

Staff were helpful and pleasant.
