Ok, so these rooms are cheap and cheerful. I get it. The bed was very comfortable, but that’s the end of the positives. The decor was tired, the bedside light didn’t work, the usb for phone charging also didn’t work. I stayed for 2 nights so tried to find someone to report the electrics to the next morning but the pub was locked. My BIGGEST problem was that the bathroom was devoid of soap. Like I said, I know it’s a budget stay but that’s just plain wrong and means that every other occupant have potentially put their unwashed hands on the electrics, switches, remotes, kettle, drawers, everywhere. I wouldn’t mind but there were proper PG Tips teabags, so if they could afford this they could splash out on a soap dispenser, surely? I was only afforded half a loo roll too (which ran out on the morning of my last day’s stay). Fortunately I carry my own toiletries, but I bet there’s many that don’t.
So come on Highwayman, pull your socks up ‘cause the soap issue is unhygienic.
Oh and another couple were still waiting for someone to come and check them in on Saturday night for 20 minutes! Staff were too busy with a party next door More
