I am sad to be leaving after a month as Patricia has made it as comfortable as being in my own home. There is lots of light, a beautiful garden, wonderful interior and a large master suite with lots of light and a view of Lake Chapala and the mountains behind. Her pictures are very accurate. Breakfasts are healthy and delicious...everyday fabulous berries and toast from the Swedish Bakery. Patricia offer lots of information about the area, great restaurant referrals and is very helpful overall. I’d love to come back!
I stayed 9 nights with Patrica at her Stunning Mexican Style Home. Spacious common areas, everything you need in the kitchen even if you prepare meals. But within 2-3 blocks there are many delicious places to eat...Machima for vegan, organic!
Patricia and her stunning home will surprise you with it's comfort and stunning beauty. When you walk into the house from the street you walk under thick bougainvillea. The talavera tile throughout the home is beautiful as is the stairway to the second floor. The sunken living room has a back wall full of windows and a glass door to the patio and garden koi pond with the sound of water, tropical plants and local birds including a Canyon Wren with it’s easily recognizable descending trill. I went up to the roof and the view of the lake and southern mountains is beautiful. It's a perfectly clean and orderly home with beautiful design. I loved having a very comfortable bed, nice room and private bathroom. There are 2 suites for rent but lots of space between them.
At this home you will be only a couple blocks from the Lake Chapala Society where if you’d like to easily meet lots of ex-pats who live in Ajijic and are happy to chat and share what living in Ajijic is like. I took movement classes, a couple every morning with folks my age and older...but the classes were the best! Spanish conversation class was great too! Beach is another block further than LCS ....don’t miss the parakeet apartment nest on the lake. I went often to the lake’s edge with the many beautiful birds...White Pelicans, Great and Snowy Egrets, Great Blue and Tri-colored Heron, Black Crowned Night Herons, Blue Mockingbirds....see chapalabirders for advertised walks. Patricia is very willingly helpful with local information and easy visiting....I enjoyed her wit and company very much! As well as her delicious berry, maple syrup and yoghurt breakfasts...yummy coffee too and coconut water! My favorite!
Also really good to be 2 blocks from the central plaza, the heart of the local community. Loud brassy bands play (but not late) Jalisco music in the gazebo. Easter week festivities were numerous and people came from all over Mexico to visit the very decorated park plaza! Ajijic and this central zone neighborhood is the best! A thriving interesting Mexican community of farmers, workers, artisans, gardeners, fishermen, domestic workers, home health care service workers, doctors, restauranteurs, ranchers, folks commuting to Guadalajara maquiladoras making cars, electronics, clothing, sugar products and more.
Patricia is an excellent host serving breakfast to order when you request it from 6 to 9:30. Our room was spacious with a huge bath. We were able to enjoy the entire house including a beautiful koi pond. The location puts you within walking distance of sights and restaurants. We would gladly book Patricia’s home again.
We had an 8 night stay in this rental, the house was clean and in a great location near to everything you would want to see in Ajijic. Patricia was welcoming and always interested to hear how our day went.
She had lots of local information, great places to eat and what to see, which taxi to call. We had lots of interesting conversations on many topics and would definitely stay here again and recommend this rental to others.
