Management Response
8 Mar 2017
I provide a very reasonably priced "house share situation", not a hotel room. As such, there is weekly maid service, not daily service and linen changes. Guests have access to the washer, dryer and laundry detergent and are expect to do their own laundry - including towels and linens. There were 4 baths towels, 4 hand towels and 2 wash cloths provided for these 2 guests. Had they asked for more, I could have provided more towels, but they never asked.

“Much nicer than staying in a Hotel”
Reviewed 8 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

I was GRANDPAcking in Ajijic for 1 week.
I found it almost impossible to find a Hotel online that I could afford, so I looked to a Vacation Rental option.
I had never done a Vacation Rental before, so I was not sure what to expect ... the the pictures of this property looked good, so I booked it for 7 nights. It was US$200 for the week plus a US$100 refundable deposit.
My host was very helpful and emailed me a map to the property before my arrival. My host even offered to pick me up from the Chapala Bus Station if I needed it. As it happens, I caught a bus from Guadalajara direct to Ajijic.
The property is a 400m walk up an uneven cobbled street; which proved to be a small problem for me with my suitcase... My host had offered to pick me up but I walked anyway.
What I found was a pleasant surprise. It was a 3,000 square foot (900sqm) property occupied by a single retired gentleman from the USA: Mike.
I had my own large bedroom with its own Ensuite. It came with in-room wifi, and cable TV with English movie and sports channels.
My room had private access to the rooftop terrace with wonderful views out over Lake Chapala and Ajijic.
I had use of the common areas. In the kitchen I had my own cupboard for my groceries and my own fridge. Mike, my host, was very welcoming.
Mike is 71 and, as you would expect from a 71 year old, has his 'routines' and you may find him a little bit 'settled in his ways'. But, it was not a problem.
He did his thing and I did mine and when we crossed paths he was always pleasant.
One day Mike took me out in his car to show me around Ajijic.
On another day, he did the same to Chapala Town.
Mike also took me down to Walmart so that I could stock up on groceries.
All in all, it is a very comfortable and pleasant stay ... and, I can recommend it to people at this price.
