What an incredible place to stay! The place was built as an inn and tavern in the 1700's. It has such a history. Because of its age be prepared for small bathrooms which must be fit into the old bones of the place. The rooms have original fireplaces and windows and so much charm. The beds are very comfortable. A nice feature is the common living room and dining table so that you get to meet other travelers. The hostess entertains with baked goods in the evening and the host cooks an amazing breakfast that is customized to your preferences. Choose from among eggs done your way, apple pancakes with real maple syrup, yogurt, sausage, fresh fruit cup, and dry cereal. You may have any or all. The host and hostess are so accommodating and friendly! The host even brings your bags to the car for you. The location is just down the road from Port Royal historic site and a five minute drive across the river from Annapolis Royal. Annapolis Royal is a charming town with earthenworks from an old fort and several nice restaurants and Victorian homes. People there love their history and are happy to share it with you.
