It was nice to have a place to grab a bite on the hour ride over to and from Grand Manan. Lots of options for all tastes. Food was tasteful and reasonably priced.

This was the second time we had eaten on the ferry. We had burgers and lobster rolls on the run to GMNB, and then had the Eastern sandwich on the way back. The food was very good. I'm a big fan of Western sandwiches, but now I also like an Eastern, every once and awhile!

The trip over (and back) to Grand Manan Island is done on one of two small car ferries operated by Coastal Transport Limited. The ferries have a gift shop, play area for kids and a restaurant. The food in the restaurant is quite decent and the price is reasonable. The ferry loads and unloads reasonably quickly and the trips we had were very smooth and comfortable. There is a nice lounge area were you can sit for the 1.5 hour ride or you can spend time on the open deck. The ferry dock in Black's Harbour is easy to find. Hint: fill the gas tank of the car in Black's Harbour as there is only one gas station on Grand Manan and the fuel costs more there.

The french fries were served fresh and warm. They were delicious. I don't indulge in french fries often, and was delighted I did. (Both to Grand Manan and on the way back.)

It's a good thing the ferry crossing is 1 1/2 hours because you need that long to get your food. Compared to BC Ferries this was night and day. No one smiled either. Slow and sullen. Food was ok but not a great deal like some others have said.
