We stayed four nights in the Smithers Guesthouse. Wendy was really welcoming and the room (#2) exceeded our expectations.
The Guesthouse is on Main Street, not far from downtown. The rooms are mostly upstairs where there is a kitchen and common room. The floors are hardwood and it is expected that you take off your shoes. There is a deck with a hot tub, for those so inclined.
The room itself was roomy with a king sized bed and a futon. It had a large bathroom with a double sink, wardrobe, dresser and a separate toilet and shower area off to the side. We had to ask to have the wardrobe unlocked to hang things, but Wendy was accommodating.
The only possible downsides were the parking which could get tense if all rooms were booked and everyone drove and the noise from other guests who have bathrooms across the hall from their room. This made noise as they opened and closed both sets of doors during the night and flushed next to our room. The shower was old school with separate taps for hot and cold and it was difficult to get a suitable temperature.
On the plus side was the bed which was super comfortable and the spaciousness. As previously mentioned Wendy was super. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.More
