If your hiking the west coast trail, end here!! Hot tub, beer, large rooms, space to dry out your gear. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Try the fishing, you will have a blast. Very informative owners, the website has its issues, but its not really required. Call and book.

The suite with 2 queen beds in the main building was a good choice. Clean and comfortable. Good heating which is important for winter a visit. Good kitchen with everything you need to prepare the food you bring, including both a tea kettle and coffee maker. Comfortable beds. And it has a gift shop with a broad selection!

Our trip of 8 fishermen in 2016 was very successful. We were a bit less on the salmon side which was more than offset by landing several large halibut. our group have been
going for many years (our.first trip had us fishing on 9/11) Every year we bring home about 50 lbs. of portioned and fast frozen fish. Trailhead have three large 4 man boats built for fishing and the three longtime guides know where to look for fish. Normallly our group is for 8 men, but this year we are using all three boats with 12 guys.

Room Tip: Look for one of the 1200 sq.ft. cabins. great accommodations with hot tub and bbq adjacent.

Recently completed my 3rd trip with Trailhead and already signed up for a 4th. The fishing is killer, the captains work their tails off and Peter & Connie treat you like family. It's an excellent opportunity to get away from it all, enjoy the well kept cabins in the woods and bring home some delicious wild caught fish! Make sure to bring an over-sized cooler!

Some may feel that if you spend time in Vancouver or Victoria you have experienced the West Coast of Canada. To some degree this is true, However if you really want to immerse yourself in an experience that conveys the true beauty and hospitably of this spectacularly unique corner of the world I would recommend taking the 2 hour dive north of Victoria to Port Renfrew.

As you wind your way up Highway 14, with each passing mile of spectacular scenery, narrow bridges and stately provincial parks you soon forget about the city and be transformed into a world of vast lush forests, undulating landscape with occasion bears or other wildlife.

The ultimate reward still awaits you as you approach the property of Trailhead Resort. From the moment you enter the driveway to Trailhead resort you realize this is a first class destination lodge. You are greeted in the office/storefront that includes a large selection of fishing supplies, clothing and whatever else you would need for a vacation on the West Coast. The owners and staff are friendly and always willing to help in any way possible.

There are several choices for accommodation including 4 store top efficiency units and several beautifully constructed cottages/cabins in the back part of the property. The cabins include full fridges, stoves, two bathrooms and very easy access to a shared hot tub and BBQ area. Both options have their own set of advantages and are furnished and decorated with a distinctive West Coast flare and art that blends with and enhances the the natural setting. Although I have never exercised the option of full board fellow guests has spoken very highly of the food quality, quantity and service.

If you choose to participate in the prime activity of Port Renfrew then Trailhead is also your best bet in the area. The have highly experienced captains, extremely safe and comfortable boats which have been designed and constructed on Vancouver Island specifically for maximum fishing enjoyment along with hull designs that meet and exceed the challenges that the Pacific Ocean can present.

I highly recommend the experience and the Lodge.
