We didn't stay at this Campground but visited Lucky Bay. The Bay is magnificent with emerald green waters and beach sand like talcum powder. Many kangaroos near by. A must see if you visit Esperance.

Lucky Bay is the perfect camping location. White sandy beaches, clear water and beautiful natural landscape. The facilities are great, showers and toilets provided. There are many other great beaches nearby and walking trails of varying difficulties. The one tip would be to arrive early. We arrived at 2pm early February and the ranger advised all spots were taken by 10:30am. We came back following morning at 8am and easily got a spot. That day probably all spots were taken by 12pm. So bear that in mind when planning to camp at Lucky Bay.

I've camped twice at Lucky bay. Once in October 2017 and recently in January 2018. It is such an awesome place to visit. It October the weather was cool and the wildflowers were in full bloom. It was nice and warm in January and the water was spectacular.
We stayed two nights, pitched a tent in the new camp ground extension. We stayed in bay 47. It was a bit windy at night but well worth the view the next day.
Camping there works on a first in basis which I think needs to change. It is a long way to Esperance and DEC should provide some booked sites for those travelling large distances. It cost $11 per night and there is no student discount. You select your site and then meet one of the volunteers to pay your fee. simple. There are solar showers but only two for each gender. the showers need to be upgraded. There are two toilet blocks. A coffee food truck attends the beach each day and so do the kangaroos. they make it so much fun. they are very friendly but please don't feed them like some people do. they are kangaroos not dogs.

Room Tip: Try to get there early for a camping spot

This National Park has a great reputation and gets very busy, but it is well worth the effort to get there. Sea is so clear and the sand brilliant white so some fantastic views. Facilities are basic but with flushing toilets and showers on a park site it is very comfortable. No phone signal at the campground but can be found nearby. This is a must see place. Resident Kangaroos only enhance its appeal.
Frenchman peak is a great walk but only when the weather is good.

Well done DPAW for providing such a well planned and maintained camping spot. Either tents or caravans are well catered for, naturally in peak seasons you need to arrive early to get a spot. You cannot make a booking for these sites. The facilities are fantastic, camp kitchens are very modern and showers and toilets clean. Remember there is no power and basic lighting is run off solar.

Lucky Bay Beach is why you visit and this area is consistently rated as one of the best beaches in the world. Spend a few days you will enjoy it. Chill out and relax.

Oh and for those that need it.....in summer a coffee van parks on the beach for soft drinks, ice cream and coffee.

Room Tip: Sites 19 to 23 are as close to the beach
