We felt very welcomed when we arrived at this very contemporary executive home situated within Langmeil Estate in Tanunda, right in the heart of the Barossa. Most importantly it is within walking distance to winery cellar doors, Langmeil, Peter Lehman Wines, or cycle on (bikes provided) to the many other wineries, (there is parking for your 2 cars).
We are tired of dumpy old hotels and pubs and happy to have found a place where Royalty must have spent a few nights! Lochnagar is named after a mountain on the Royal Estate at Balmoral in north-east Scotland,) or perhaps the owners of the residence are well-connected!. I say this with tongue in cheek but we found the home in such top condition and so perfectly clean, well decorated and with fabulous beds and bedding that it would certainly pass the queen's white glove test!
The house is not decked out in tartans as you may expect, from the home's name Lochnagar, however it's all very up-to-date and neutral with a large kitchen, dining and spacious living/entertainment area, overlooking a fabulous garden. As well as three large bedrooms with their own ensuite bathroom (one with a spa bath) - there are 2 queen and 1 king bedrooms. The house is fully furnished and equipped with all facilities including ducted reverse cycle air conditioning for year round comfort, stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher, wide screen television and surround sound, free wifi as well as a large garden in comparison to many other places that we have stayed at.
We sincerely thank the owners for opening their Barossa home for us to to enjoy.
A lovely home away from home. Everything you might need is here. Very comfortable & quiet too. Close to wineries, restaurants etc.
