This is a small museum just near Cootamundra Railway Station it is none the less very interesting especially how it is arranged with many small room showing different themes from Cootamundra's past, it is totally different to other museums, a small fee is charged for entry, would recommend a visit and looking at the station as well just behind a wonderful typical country station from the past

This small centre maintains and preserves the regions rich railway history. Located next to the railway station the old signal gantry is rather impressive. Somewhere for railway fans and history buffs alike.

We were warmly greeted by volunteer staff and were told all about the building and walked through the building. Some points of interest were pointed out and then we were left to discover the rest for ourselves. A true walk through time.

Take the time to stop at the historic railway station - it is like an open plan picnic garden and building strip all in one (the young kids loved the grass and freight yards trains right by the station).

Then pop into the brick building on the right - the Heritage Centre / old railway barracks - it's voluntary gold coin donation entry and like the Tardis in that it looks like a medium sized brick building from the outside, but inside keeps expanding and going and going as is jammed packed full of up close local historical artefacts, themed period and First Australians, WW2, railway and cultural rooms and displays (all up close!).

The range of displays, number of rooms, and friendly local volunteers eager to help make it a wonderful hour or two!

What a town for families, kids, history, aviation and railway buffs of all ages! The locals MAKE this town!

The ACT History History Association will be back as a touring crew! Thanks Coota!
