Jardines de Santa Clotilde

Recommended length of visit: 1-2 hours
Owner description: This wonderful garden was landscaped in a setting of great beauty on top of a cliff with breath-taking views over the sea, and it is a fine specimen of the spirit that animated the Noucentista movement in Catalonia - an early twentieth-century movement for intellectual and aesthetic renewal that found a distinguished spokesman in the writer Eugeni d'Ors. The Santa Clotilde gardens were designed in the manner of the dainty yet austere gardens of the Italian Renaissance by Nicolau Rubió i Tuduri at the age of twenty-eight, when he was still brimming over with admiration for his master in the art of landscape gardening, Forestier.

“wonderful little place”
Reviewed 13 November 2011

This is one of the things you should definitely visit in Lloret, it is very cheep, but it is wonderful and it will not take you a lot of time. Plus it is close to one little nice beach so you can visit that too and really enjoy.

“Beautiful Italian style landscape garden”
Reviewed 13 June 2010

Italian Renaissance style garden playing with various shapes and shades of green in combination with sculptures, romantic stairways and spectacular sea views. We happily and leisurely walked and rested there for about 2 hours. If you have to get back for the "hop-on-hop-of garden tour" bus you could quickly see the garden in one hour. This garden is not a collection of plants but a beautifully designed landscape garden. Some practicalities: box office has brochure-map in English; there is a nice restroom by the box office, no food/drinks vendors in the garden. If you do not have a car, you can rich the garden using the "hop-on-hop-off" 2-buses combination ride for touring 3 gardens between Blanes (plaza Catalonia) and Lloret de Mar (bus terminal). One day ticket for this this "hop-on-hop-off" bus combination trip was 10 euro (June 2, 2010) including entrance fee to one of 3 gardens.

“A place of peace and tranquility”
Reviewed 8 October 2009

Wonderful formal gardens featuring local trees and shrubs. there are fantastic views of the cliffs and little coves, a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Lloret. there are no shops or cafe in the gardens, totaly unspoiled peace. well worth a visit. be warned that in the low season they do close for siesta. One of Lorrets hidden gems, like the cemetery.
