This place is great for a peaceful walk. 4 times around this lake should be equal to a full mile. If you have a pet, they will enjoy this walk!

Love walking around the lake. Children love the ducks and geese. Interesting sculptures throughout the park.

I have lived in Rocky Mount all of my life. City Lake is a place I immensely enjoyed as a kid. However, I would say that maintenance, groundskeeping, etc... precipitously fell by the wayside in the post-Hurrican Floyd (1999) era. However, with the Tar River Trail and the restoration of the Mill Village, City's Lake has also been given more attention. Metal sculptures, duck feed dispensers, and even an emergency phone pole have been added. I would recommend this as a place to take a leisurely walk, wet a hook, or have a picnic (large grassy area).

This is a wonderful place to take your family to relax and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake. Whether you are relaxing in the gazebo, sitting amongst the ducks, or walking around, it's enjoyable and peaceful. Several people stop by to feed the ducks, take pictures, walk, or picnic. It's a nice place to dedicate 30 minutes to an hour for.

Right next to the Old Power Station in Rocky Mount NC is a small lake with a fountain whose cascading drops ring out the tenseness and relaxes like a rainy day, but without the rain. The park has a paved walkway around the lake and benches for sitting, resting and picnicking all around. There are some wooded areas around the edges and some grassy groves for throwing a frisbee or just having some private time with someone special. Enjoy the park with someone special or with a group of friends and leave before dark. Oh, I almost forgot to remind you to bring food for the many many ducks that call the lake home.
