Its over a year since going to this lovely pub, today we didn't have time for food, but a drink in the seating area outside on a sunny evening was a nice experience. Tried the House ale - which was very lively, but very drinkable, a nice touch.

A group of 12 of us visited for Sunday lunch following a recommendation. The venue looked nice and the menu sounded good. We were disappointed by firstly the roast potatoes which were almost solid and would have held up nicely for overarm bowling on the cricket pitch. The beef was tough and one of our party was totally forgotten. She didn’t get her meal until the rest of the table had nearly finished. We ordered some chips which were very dark, a bit like potatoes that had been left out of water to go a bit black before they were cooked. Finally, having chosen our desserts and waited, we were then told that four of us had to reorder as they didn’t have any of our choice left. An up to date list of desserts in the first place might have been in order.
Altogether it wasn't a great success and I doubt that any of us would return.

Good morning,

Firstly I would like to take the opportunity to give our sincerest apologies for your experience this Sunday just gone, I can assure you that this is not the standard that we strive for and we are very sad to hear that you had this experience. We will pass your feedback on the food to the kitchen to ensure that these issues are dealt with to avoid any future occurrences. With regards to the desserts, it is common practice to inform guests of any shortages upon menus being received and I apologise that this was not done in your case, I will be following this up with the staff on duty to ensure that they adhere to this practice from now on.

Once again our apologies for your experience and we hope that you will change your mind on your decision to dine with us again, so that we have an opportunity to show you the standards that we strive to achieve.

Kind regards,

Jess Nixon
Assistant Manager

After hearing some great feedback about this newly reopened place a few of my colleagues and I decided to head there for lunch. Welcomed with warm, genuine smiles and happy banter from the two brunettes behind the bar who proceeded to serve us in the restaurant also. They really made our visit special with their knowledgable suggestions and fluent service and made us feel completely at home. Food was of a very high standard and the place is incredible - new refurb is spot on. We will be back!

Had lunch here on the Sunday before bank holiday. Food was excellent , initially I thought the service was a little slow as we had to wait for the wine to arrive after we had our starter but want really a problem as the afternoon went on it did become busier and I could see that staff were doing there best, the restaurant is lovely , the decor and table linen very nice with fresh roses on the table. Overall a really nice lunch followed by drinks in the courtyard because it was a beautiful day. Will definitely return.
