We just visited Maggie Valley March 7 th 2015 . We stayed at the Holiday Hotel. Our room was large and very clean. I do have to say that I did not sleep well due to a very soft bed . I also pulled the sheets off the bed as soon as I got in the room and was very happy to find NO bed bugs! The only thing that I found that was suppose to be included was the free wifi, it didn't work for our iPads or smart phones, but we did not mention this to the owners not really a big deal . When we go back to Maggie Valley we will stay at the holiday Hotel again. Good owners, good price, great experience !

Room Tip: Room 14 at the holiday hotel was a great room , it only has 1 king size bed.

We stayed here for a long weekend and it was a great little place. We had one of the 2 double beds with kitchenette room around the back of the main building but it was a really nice room. The place isn't fancy but it is clean, and very reasonably priced. All the staff were nice and very happy to help with anything we needed. We will definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for 3 nights with our family of five in February of 2015. We stayed in the two-room family suite, which was a welcome arrangement. It's hard to find convenient accommodations that keep a large family together and offer some privacy at the same time!

The building is that very old-style single-story wooden motel that rambles alongside the road.... the kind that you'd never consider visiting before the days of TripAdvisor. Unlike most though this one is cheerily painted and decorated on the outside. It is run by a young couple who live on property and are super sweet. They clearly put a lot of care and work into their business, and want their customers to be happy.

The inside of the rooms was very plain, but quite comfortable. The beds were comfy. There was good drawer space and hanging space and luggage space and bedside tables. Each room had a good mirror, which made it easier to share the single bathroom. The mini-fridge was actually quite large, and had a freezer as well. The rooms stayed nice a toasty even with extremely cold winter weather outside.

However... the heat in the room with just one queen bed was provided by a radiator. It kept us warm.... but it made annoying clicking sounds *all the time*, which was quite annoying to try to sleep with. The other bedroom had a lot of noise come through the walls from the neighboring room. The biggest problem however was the shower. It must have been on some kind of shared hot water circuit. The water temperature would NOT stay constant... it would turn icy or scalding without warning, and the stall was so tiny that you couldn't jump out of the water stream when it became uncomfortable. One time it ran out of hot water completely halfway through my shower, which was miserable indeed.

I really wanted to give a glowing review of this hotel, because it has a lot of things in its favor and as I said the owners are very sweet and very caring.... but that shower is a hard obstacle to overcome. Maybe we were just unlucky with our particular room... but if showers are important to you, I'd inquire about rooms with an in-line water heater!

Thank you for staying with us and sharing your experience. We wish you would have told us in person, but I assume this is easier. We had no idea about the hot water, so we are addressing that issue at this time. I am assuming it was a Holiday weekend when we were 100% occupancy when you have visited us and maybe lots of people taking a shower at the same time could have been the problem. Again we will take care of this ASAP. We want to thank you for your business it is greatly appreciated and we will make sure you have plenty of hot on your next stay with us.
Thank you

We went to Cherokee to go Christmas Shopping and wanted to stay somewhere that was biker friendly even though it wasn't riding season. We made our reservations online, but when we arrived the room we had requested was not available due to guests staying another night. Rob and Gabi went out of their to find us a room that satisfied our needs. The room was dated but very, and I mean very clean. It is great to see owners that go out of their way for cleanliness. The property definitely shows it.
