This classic inn was a delight. The view is magnificent, and the lobby, patios, balconies are all situated to let you take it in. The cool breezes and clean air up on the ridge let you feel like you've really gotten away to somewhere. Excellent food in the restaurant--we loved our peach glazed salmon and our server Allan was spot on in taking care of us. After a day of many amazing gallery visits it was a real pleasure to just have a nice cold drink and a great meal, and a sound night's sleep. Loved this place and will try to make it back to the area to enjoy it again--and next time bring my suit for the hot tub.

This year I arrived at the Chalet as it is often referred to. That really cute bartenderess Jennifer was working there again this year in the "Fowl Play Pub",when she wipped up this bigass bloody Mary! She also has been showing off fossil specimens that she has from where it's not quite clear. But that said the proof is in the pudding. Here she is kissing on a juvie Triceratops!

Our stay at the Switzerland Inn was lovely. Though the weather was iffy, this only meant we stayed at the lodge more than we would have explored the Blue Ridge Parkway's many attractions. Kelly, who works in the tavern section of the restaurant saw to our every need. We will be back!

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice, and priced according to their view of the valley.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The lobby is quaint and rustic and the rooms are comfortable with great views. They have a nice list of available activities -- a pool, tennis, fitness center, lots of board games, fire pits, table tennis, horseshoes -- very old-fashioned. Charming!

Nice room, good food, but we moved from a room with no internet at the end of the hall to one with minimal connection. Totally unacceptable at these prices! We rely on internet at the end of a long day travelling. Should not promise if not available.
