Books galore to chose from, ceiling to floor!
Lovely local artwork upstairs and great cakes, the caramel slice was delicious!

This was a wonderful shop with lots to offer and a very personable owner. Even though the sign said no dogs, the owner welcomed my family and well behaved dog into her shop. We bought some sweets and English Farmstead cheese. The store offers art, books, yummy treats and so much more! Thank you for your hospitality:-)

It was a foggy, rainy day. We stopped here because we were lost and without a hotel for the night. They hooked us up with a room at the alpine inn and told us how to get to an apple orchard. They even hooked us up with some wine as they were having a social. Nice people, cool bookstore worth visiting!

We were meeting several other friends in this beautifully breathtaking small little town and decided to stop in here for breakfast. We got some sweet rolls, coffee and the best hot chocolate I've ever had. We sat by the fire place surrounded by an enormous number of books. Before we knew it was time for lunch so we walked next door to the restaurant and had some of the best barbecue I've ever tasted. Our server Tracie was very friendly and helpful with the limited menu. All of our guests liked their meals.
It was a little overpriced but it was well worth it considering the scenery and tranquility of this part of North Carolina.
(The famous CHALET is only a quarter of a mile down the road. You gotta see that too)!
Can't wait to return!

This little bookshop has been here for years and years, though it received an update and added a coffee/gift shop some years ago. The building seems to have been added on to numerous times, seeming sure to topple down the mountain at any time! Yet, we absolutely love it. There are more books here than in the Library of Congress (well, maybe I exaggerate just a bit), and quite a selection. We enjoy perusing the books, and often find a gem or two. We make a point to stop in anytime our journeys take us to this section of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Worth a visit!
