for a small place, this team produces great food. get the chicken sliders. tastes like something from a high end restaurant. the chef or owner here produces exceptional food. Can't believe this won't turn into a larger restaurant some day. Right now, they are located right next to the Linville Mart in Linville. All my compliments to the chef. great food, great job

We almost couldn't find it but are glad we did. It is right next to a gas station outside of Linville. It is painted bright yellow but the umbrellas at the tables in front of the stand virtually hide it. I had the jerk chicken salad and it was very fresh and delicious. Our group of six all enjoyed their food. Why go to Linville, NC? To eat at The Roost and hike around Linville Falls, of course?

The Roost has a simple menu full of fresh ingredients that render a complex taste. They only serve tacos and sliders and chicken salad. Yet, they manage to make each one with very different bases (crab cake, jerk, Thai or regular chicken, brisket, beef short ribs, etc) and accent them with green apple or Asian slaw and cilantro sour cream. There are different homemade sauces you may add, but I did not find it necessary as they were already very flavorful. The only drinks served are tea, water and lemonade. Oh, and there are sides.

My husband has family in Linville so we had gone there for the day to see his family. On our way out we had seen this little shack on the side of the road. It was busy so we decided what do we have to lose. That was a great call. It was delicious and fresh. They might have been some of the best tacos I have ever had. We did the crab cake tacos, thai chicken tacos and pork taco I think. THey are filling and delicious. We will stop here everytime that we are in Linville now. It is a quick stop and easy to miss. So make sure you seek it out because it is worth it.

Our group of 6 had an enjoyable stop at this roadside eatery, with a limited menu and friendly service at the window. Sit-down is all outside the small facility, and many of the customers were having takeout lunches. I had a fairly creative (read: different from the usual run-of-the-mill) chicken salad, which comes with a variety of sauces. Three of the four tables were equipped with umbrellas to keep out the sun, and we had room to sit at 2:00 in the afternoon on a weekday. The young lady taking our orders called out a name when each order was ready, and we picked up the order at the window--operated like a fast food place, but with much better product and variety. You might pass it by if you're not careful--it's next to a Citgo service station, and back from the road. We recommend it as a stop.
