We enjoyed walking to visit the falls. The walk was easy for our 6 year old. The falls are breathtaking.

As always, the views of Linville Falls are spectacular. However, we were extremely disappointed that the government has failed in maintaining the beauty & basic care for the place. It's been 3 years since our last visit and we were highly surprised/disappointed that the bathroom facilities were closed/boarded up at the main visitor center. Two portalets were positioned in the parking lot as supposedly sufficient replacements. I have never seen portalets so full of feces in my life!! Why aren't they being cleaned more frequently or why aren't there more of them? In addition, there were three large trees that had fallen over the paths in different areas of the park. Someone had cut enough of out of each of them to allow for guests to walk around them. Why haven't they been totally removed?

We visited in March for Spring Break. Hike to the falls and gorge was not very difficult. The area was well maintained and there were several different views of the falls. Great place for families and children.

The Linville Gorge is one of the most unspoiled areas of the NC mountains with uninterrupted vistas as far as you can see across heavily forested lands. Multiple levels of trails take you to waterfalls and lookout points.

Short walk from the parking lot to either the Upper or Lower Falls. It is worth the walk to view from both perspectives.
