Old fashioned soda fountain fare for ice cream and cakes/pies. I had the classic hot fudge sundae (I am a connoisseur of hot fudge) with hand scooped vanilla ice cream and this was excellent. Specially with wet walnuts, or almonds, whipped cream with a cherry on top. My wife had the hand scooped pistachio almond ice cream in a cone. They had all sorts of pies, but we we too filled to try any, but they sure looked good. Also, you could eat outside on the porch or on a picnic table with the wonderful smell of wood smoke(not too much) from a chiminea.

What can I say... If you like homemade sourdough bread, fruit cobblers, pies, ice cream and apple butter then you've got to stop into this tiny little place on the curve. Don't blink you might miss it, and if you do turn around. It's wonderful!

We stopped here on our travels for a bite of something sweet. We weren't disappointed that's for sure. Their slices of pie are slightly above average so the $5.95 per slice seemed average.
I say beware because THEY DO NOT ACCEPT DEBIT/CREDIT CARDS and there is NO sign telling you this at all. We didn't have enough cash on us at the time to pay for our "treats" and we didn't know because they have NO signs posting they accept cash/check only so they sent us down the road to the nearest gas station for an ATM. When my husband got there the ATM was empty so he had to ride further down the road.
It was a nice shop, friendly people and lots of choices to choose from on the cake/pie menu just wish they would post a sign letting you know, NO debit.

We stopped in here during a weekend up in the High Country to view the fall colors.

The genuine southern hospitality made us want to sit down and stay a while, which we did. The owner was busy but Brewer a fresh pot of coffee for us. We ended up getting a piece of cheesecake, which was incredible.

This place is owned by a couple from Mississippi who came up to the mountains 20 years ago. They fit right in up here!

We got off the Blue Ridge Parkway to drive the backroads of North Carolina. We happened upon this little jewel in the wilderness. We had the best peach cobbler, a history lesson from the proprietor, and saw some vintage collectibles. The owners have real Green Thumbs -- the flowers were gorgeous!! We'll be back.
