Upon checking in to the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Brevard last night, neither the male behind the desk, nor the female employee standing outside the plexiglass check-in desk, were masked for public health, nor appeared to have one anywhere near them. When asked if they had masks, they said “no.” He proceeded to explain the guests had taken them all, not realizing I was asking if HE had a mask. We were appalled at the apparent lack of care or understanding about safety protocols and felt deeply concerned that the hotel was not taking safety precautions seriously.
It was far too long a drive to go home, so we chose to stay the night after wiping everything down in the room with disinfectant. When we left this morning, we passed at least FOUR unmasked employees. Two were in an alcove past the common area (ice machine?) and two were standing at the desk. Two were without masks entirely, and two were wearing them sloppily at their chin.
We are furious that we feel our health was in danger staying at this hotel, feel the hotel was barely following the state mandated rules and will be contacting IHG Corporate ASAP. Stay away at all costs. We have a photo of the male employee on the first night and will be submitting that as well.More
