We ate in this restaurant tonight, and everything was great. This was one of the best places we have eaten in the high country. The service was perfect and the plates were huge. Don't miss a chance to eat here. The drive from Boone and Blowing Rock will be well worth it.

Excellent BBQ!!! We had pulled pork, the mashed red potato side and cole slaw. I loved the cole slaw and I usually don't at most places. The hush puppies are awesome too. We are big eaters and for $10 per plate we were beyond full. That is a bargain! Sit near the side window so you can watch the water wheel. It's gorgeous!!!

Stopped in over Memorial Day weekend after suggestion from our hotel clerk. Ordered the pulled pork half plate. Excellent service ordered appetizer and food at same time and both came out about 5 minutes later.

Our party of three just happened to stop at The Pedalin' Pig BBQ on their opening weekend. We dined early and there were few diners but we were seated in the bar anyway. We probably should have requested a table/booth in another area because as the bar filled with locals it became noisy and crowded forcing our bartender/waiter to give us less than attentive service. He was apparently aware of the issue as he deducted 10% from our bill without any comment/complaint from our party and apologized sincerely. We were given complimentary hushpuppies as a welcome due to the opening and they were tasty, a little sweet but good. The menu was limited. 6 appetizers, 3 different salads, and three taco selections (pork belly, pulled beef w green chili, jerk chicken w pineapple citrus slaw). Sandwich selections were pulled pork, brisket, marinated chicken, fried flounder and angus burger. Also on menu were baby back ribs (quarter, half and full order) and half pound plates of pulled pork, brisket, chicken, trout or fried flounder. There is also a kids menu w 6 different offerings. Our party ordered the half pound pulled pork, half pound brisket and the half order of ribs which all come with 2 sides and a slice of texas toast. The ribs were tough and chewy and the pulled pork was ok but a little dry. There are several flavors of sauce available and we found the chipotle honey to be our favorite. The brisket was excellent, tender and tasty and all agreed by far the best of the three meals selected. As sides we ordered mac & cheese (good but not sure if homemade), baked beans (very spicy and only edible to the hot sauce lover in our group), bbq coleslaw (which contained bbq sauce and was good) and also the regular version of coleslaw (also good). We did like fact that the menu was marked GF for gluten free items and on the front of the menu they ask that you let them know if you have any food allergies. Our bill for the 3 meals and 2 ice teas (one diner drank water) plus local meal tax of 10% and other tax came to $50.88. We felt that this was reasonable given the portion sizes. Although not everyone enjoyed everything we ordered we are willing to revisit The Pedalin' Pig BBQ again in the future and hope for an improved outcome.
