We stayed here for three nights. We had a room at the front of the hotel and looked out on the fort. Our room was very big, with two double beds, big wardrobe, fridge and dressing table. The en-suite shower was amazing: beautifully tiled and with lovely warm water! We also had a balcony. The room had a ceiling fan and air conditioning. Every evening, someone would come to spray the room and the beds with mosquito spray and to put the mosquito nets in place.
Breakfast was generous: cereals; cooked breakfast; lots of fresh fruit; toast; jam, honey and peanut butter and real butter! The only issue was that when there are no guests about, certain things get put back in the fridge and might not be on display when you come down for breakfast, but staff were always more than happy to fetch anything needed.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The laundry service was quick and efficient. We weren’t entirely clear about the system for that, and ended up taking everything to reception. As well as a special carrier bag, there is a form to be filled in and signed.
The hotel serves food and we had a meal at the hotel on our first night. The food was very nice, but the dining room isn’t very private as it is also the lobby of the hotel. If ordering food from the hotel, you’d probably be better off with room service.
There are lots of great places to get food from near the hotel. There is a fabulous Indian restaurant almost next door. By the oceanfront there is a food market every evening, where you can buy freshly made pizza, kebabs, shawarma and lots of other things (we were advised to be careful with fish and to avoid prawns).
On the roof of the hotel is a swimming pool. It is small but very nice. You can see the ocean when you’re in the pool. The information booklet in the room said that towels were available, but we were unable to find any.
The hotel seemed very clean. The room was very comfortable and the staff very helpful. The hotel is a short walk from the ferry, it is very close to the sea and on the edges of Stone Town.

Family of 5 stayed 3 nights at this hotel at the end of Ramadan this year. We were in the middle of the action (Forodhani gardens being close by). Hotel has charm with traditional furniture and wooden craved doors and balconies. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of delicious items, including good assortment of fresh fruit. Service was excellent and courteous. Staff very helpful with suggestions on where to eat, bank teller machine, etc.

Hotel has a good location and a different architecture. At the other hand the furniture in the rooms was quite dirty. Since we didn’t be sure that the room’s clean, we used wet wipes to wipe off the dust on the furniture. Wipes we used were brown after the cleaning. Even the telefon was incredibly dirty. There were some insects inside the room, even they sprays the room everyday.

Stayed there for 7days and found the facilities and staff were very very good. The rooftop pool, although small is fun to swim and have privacy in evening with a nice view of the sea and stonetown. The staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to satisfy requests/ special needs. Walking distance from a lot of restaurants and sights.

More than we would usually pay for places as we are generally budget travellers but the rooftop pool was very, very welcome!
Great location near the beach and Forodhani Gardens and right on edge of old Stone Town maze of alleys.
Staff were amazing and breakfast awesome.
