This is quite a different experience. You choose prawns or a mixture of meat and prawns and cook them yourself on a hot slate. You are also given garlic butter and sauces to flavour the food. The restaurant is on top of a rock and is quite quirky with pirate sails decorating it. The staff are friendly and the cost compares well with other Seychelles restaurants.

This is a little of the main east coast road. Head for Kempinski and then keep going for about 1 mile then turn left. You can order a selection of meat, fish &/or prawns. You then get a hot slab of stone with burners on which to cook the food. The main course with rice/salad, & desert for two & 2 glasses of wine came to about 1000SAR. Recommended.

The restorant is near the kampinski and the four seasons hotels
It located 5 minutes from the beach
You can eat there the local fish and shrimp that you cook for yourself on a hot metal stuff on your table
The food is most fresh and tasty
The price was more than fair
Dinner for two cost 50 euro

We’ve been staying at the four seasons for the past 10 days and needed a break from the restaurants and stumbled upon Maria’s Rock. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. You can order seafood, meat, or vegetables and then you are provided a hot stone to cook it on. The creole butter and garlic butter they provide really flavor up the meat and seafood. They give you just the right portion and leave a little room to top it off with a crepe! Prices are reasonable for the Seychelles. This is a unique experience and something I highly recommend.

After several nights of being gouged by the prices at the Four Seasons, I decided to visit Maria’s. The food was excellent!! I can’t complain about anything. I ended up going back a couple times. The hot stones are probably an accident waiting to happen (god forbid on fell on someone) but it was part of the fun. Highly recommend it!
