The food is of top quality. As a bonus they offer various free appetisers and deserts. The venue has indoor and outdoor option and the outdoor area is at the water.

Had an outstanding meal here. Service and setting are second to none. It’s not cheap (one tiny comment: the restaurant might want to consider some cheaper options as a starter - the cheapest starter is about £20). However the main courses are very good value for the quality you get. The amuse bouche, and little touches including the grog was fantastic.

We visited Le Pescatore for a meal and were incredibly impressed with the food. This is fine dining but with substantial portions as well.

You get the usual bread as it is a French restaurant but you also have mini chapatis and dips to give it a Mauritian touch.

The setting is wonderful with an outside Terrasse above the beach so you can hear the waves gently washing in, most pleasant.

Seafood is the specialilty and is done very well, particularly the lobster and scallops.

For the quality of the food the cost was very reasonable as well, would definitely recommend.

As others have commented Pescatore is not cheap but during ten days in Mauritius we dined twice at this delightful restaurant as it was one of a few we rated for a second visit.
Situated beside a steel jetty the restaurant is an atmospheric neo-colonial bungalow open to the West with a balcony overlooking the sea. Ask for a balcony table to sit under the palms with the sea lapping alongside but don’t be disappointed inside the black and white tiled dining area is just as lovely.
The shared fish plater is clearly a speciality but we went A la Carte with a crab trio that would rate against any of the world’s finest; cooked octopus and a tuna carpaccio were also superb. Dorado was cooked to perfection and the tuna was similarly beautifully prepared. The banana dessert was also a trio of different preparations and rounded us off well.
Wines are French and South African as nearly all Mauritius. The service is efficient but we pushed back against the tendency to hurry the courses.
The owner was present on one of the nights we dined and that perhaps sharpened the show and the chef’s preparedness to come and speak to us later in the evening gave authenticity.
We ranked this one of the best restaurants on the island and well worth the effort to find it.

We went for lunch with couple of friends and we were lucky because film crew was shooting Hollywood movie in that location during the time we were there...we had nice food and sweets and coffee and than another coffee...we just didn't feel like leaving this wonderful spot with such a great view! We even got some free rum from the owner to enjoy longer stay! Really lovely spot, just look at my photos...
