Fabulous staff especially Jamill515,Vinan,Nass & Matthew couldn't do enough for you.
Relaxing with no children, food good and varied. Only downside it was VERY hot try and go in the cooler months. Recommended.

Dear Valued Guest

Thank you very much for your kind acknowledgement of our warm hospitality.

Our main asset is indeed our staff whom I can see worked their way through your heart. Bless them...!

Veranda Paul & Virginie is a children free resort, and as such provide the kind of environment for a relaxing and "Far from the Maddening Crowd" type of holidays...

Well, the best months to come to Mauritius are April/ May and September/ October where temperatures are cooler, and therefore more comfortable. This year, summer has been and is being exceptionally very hot and humid; we have not seen such heat for a while...

Looking forward to welcoming you back, in the cooler months,

With sincere regards

This place is true bliss, peaceful and tranquil with no children allowed. The general ambiance and layout is tasteful and intimate with good rooms and lovely gardens and swimming pools. However, this is not like a large five star chain hotel and although I have awarded five stars they don't get absolutely everything right and you just have to accept things as being part of the relaxed way of doing things in Mauritius. What I am going to say did not spoil our holiday in any way. Room service : usually you get new towels and water daily and shower gel and teabags but sometimes not! St Geran restaurant: service is very haphazard. Drinks sometimes come late or not at all! You can be delivered someone elses food. Some of the waiters lack command of English or understanding of speed. I've been told the restaurant has been closed for lunch only to find 30 minutes later that it is not! The main restaurant is fine with excellent service. Snorkeling: Everybody is very nice but sometimes you book and they have no record of your booking; or they say the trip is cancelled but you later learn it was not or you haven't booked at all but they think you have! Communication seems to be somewhat lacking! These are small things. Overall everything was great. WiFi is excellent throughout, even on the beach. Food is very good quality but be prepared for more buffet meals than otherwise. Only come here on All Inclusive as there is nowhere else to eat locally and the deal is very good value with limitless drinks. There is a men's dress code in the main restaurant in the evening but some guests ignore it and I only saw it enforced on one evening. Maybe the management should abandon it. The evening entertainment is varied and very good. We would definitely return here and recommend it to our friends as we had a wonderful relaxing holiday. One further point - this is far superior to the sister Veranda hotel in Grand Baie.

Dear Valued Guest John

Thank you very much for your kindness.

We are delighted to read that you enjoyed our resort despite your own perception of " you just have to accept things as being part of the relaxed way of doing things in Mauritius"...

After investigations, I would like to clarify a few of the comments you made.

As regards the snorkeling part - I believe that you spoke with Aldo; the weather being unsettled, it was not easy for us to keep up with planned trips out at sea. Therefore on that particular Wednesday, given that the weather was not good, our glass bottom boat trip with snorkeling was cancelled; we asked whether you would like us to put your name down for the next day; we understand you said no, you would rather go on Friday. There must have been a misunderstanding as you came to us on Thursday, but nonetheless, we managed to have you on, on that day; and we therefore cancelled the booking made for the following day ( Friday ). I would really not know how the misunderstanding happened but clearly, it has nothing to do with a lack of communication.

As regards our housekeeping service, our established procedures are such that bed sheets and bath towels are not changed on a daily basis; bed sheets are changed every two days unless otherwise necessary as when stained or dirty; as for bath towels, when these are hanged, we understand that you are going to re-use them; if they are on the bathroom floor, we know you need fresh ones. Likewise, our established procedures for amenities are such that these are not renewed daily; we replace used ones as and when required. As for minibar, control and replenishment are done once daily; but our records show that you did ask for more drinks on a couple of occasions, even when your minibar was replenished, and needful was done.

As regards the beach restaurant being closed one moment, and opened the next, indeed, we were at the mercy of the weather, where one minute, it would be pouring cats and dogs with strong winds, and the next thing you know, it has all stopped, and the weather is good again. In such unsettled weather conditions, it was really hard, taking decisions. But because of the popularity of that beach outlet, once we felt that it would be alright to host lunch or dinner down there, we went for it, and opened, to the delight of our guests. So yes, sorry, if it seemed like we were out of control in this lapse of time when we told you it was closed, and half an hour later, it was " business as usual"...

To conclude, our evening dress code are either long pants or tailored shorts for men. I am sorry that some people do not abide by this as in their mind, "tailored shorts" take a different meaning. You are right, may be this should be dropped entirely and people should be left to wear anything they want - but the decision is not mine to take.

Thank you for your kind understanding.

Wishing you all the very best

This hotel is in a perfect position. As you drive up to reception your first view is straight through the restaurant to the most impossibly blue sea beyond. The rooms are in three classes comfort, superior and privilege, all nicely decorated and as you would imagine almost all with fabulous views, the infrastructure of the hotel, ie the bar, public areas Like bathrooms, beach bar, restaurant, beach restaurant, are really well done. The staff are great young and happy and there is a good camaraderie amongst them.
Jennifer Wong the manager is hands on and will be seen daily walking round and talking to people.
Breakfast is served in the main restaurant and is great with an omelette, fried, boiled, poached egg station. Hot pancakes bacon sausage as well as the normal pastries and juices etc. Tea and coffee is sometimes slow to arrive but giving someone a small tip assures quicker attention. Lunch is at the main bar as a la carte snacks ie club sandwich burger etc or at the St Geran beach restaurant which has a more substantial three course menu.
You can book here for dinner but it comes as a supplement unless you have a privilege room. There are special nights here too which are good enormous platter of fish and lobster but quite expensive 2000rupee pp ish.
Dinner in the main restaurant is ok although sometimes the choice is limited but we are fussy about food.
The catamaran cruise is fantastic as was the sunset cocktail party on the boat Deep into the Blue, charged as an extra but without doubt fantastic even my 83 year old dad had a great time dancing round his stick!
Laundry is good and gym small but adequate although the running machine was broken.
You can no longer reserve Sun beds, a huge improvement.

I would say this was a good value holiday in a beautiful location and I would return

Special thanks to Vinnai, sonny, Yogesh, Kushan and Pratima for exceptional service. And Jennifer for her support in making our holiday great.

Suggestions would be to move the ‘whats on’ board to a more visible location,( we didn’t find it for a week) to source a better white/red house wine and to give a wider choice of dinner options in the main restaurant and then you would be on track for 5 stars

Dear Valued Guest Alison

A big thank you for your time and effort in sharing your wonderful experience.

Alison, I have to confess that I was not happy to read of the "small tip" to get coffee more rapidly... I would rather be happy that you tip further to a good service, than the other way round which amounts to, let's face it, "bribery", however small your tip may have been... As you may know, tips are not mandatory here in Mauritius. ( We will bring a friendly reminder to all our team members about same ).

I am happy to inform you that the running machine has been long repaired, although to my own dissatisfaction, it took us some ten days to do so as regards our service provider...

Well, after some time, given that the situation as regards the sunbeds was getting worse, I decided indeed to take the lead as people were still reserving these. But we need to keep an eye, though on those sunbeds that keep having their beach towels on... It is not so much a matter of not having enough sunbeds as so much a matter of where the sunbeds are located...

Please pass on my regards to your parents.

With warmest regards

We had our Honeymoon here (in Aug '16) and it was magical. The hotel itself if lovely, small and very personal. The staff are amazing and do a fantastic job, the couldn't do enough for us. The food at the beach restaurant was exceptionally good and we enjoyed working our way through the menu during our stay. The location was perfect to get around the Island and the hotel provided plenty of watersport activities to keep us entertained when we didn't have any excursions planned. We would love to go back but maybe this time we would go more in their summer months to get more consistent weather. This was truly an unforgettable experience that we will cherish forever.

Relaxing holiday with great service from the staff throughout our stay. Awmee is very attentive and helpful on the lounge bar with special mention to Kevin and Girish both excellent waiters that go above and beyond every day. The room was very clean and comfortable with fantastic views out to sea, Reena ensured our room was maintained and kept cool. The team are a credit to the manager who walks the site on a daily basis keen to pick up feedback from all. Mauritius is a great destination especially at this time of the year and Veranda Paul is an excellent place to rejuvenate and refresh. Highly recommend.
