Mile Hill B and B
Reviewed 4 July 2016

With little notice, Maret allowed me to book a room for one night (Saturday) on a weekend during high season. This alone is nearly impossible in upstate New York. Her home is a unique property that she shares with her guests and includes a a relaxing pool, beautiful trees, and a large piece of land. Her home is filled with beautiful art and antiques, more tasteful and unusual than what you would find at most B&B's but far beyond that and the amazing breakfast she makes herself using locally sourced products, including a vase full o fresh herbs and flowers on the table the permeate the house with wonderful smells, is who she is as a person and the exciting stories of her past having grown up in Scandinavia and lived in France before moving to New York to become a top international fashion model, then art expert. If all that isn't enough her cat Oden welcomes you as much, or as little, as you'd like with the most heart warming personality and hospitality that we have ever seen in a single feline. We miss him still!

Room Tip: There are only two rooms, we stayed in the master with the old fashioned bathtub. Very nice!

This lovely restored farm house is full of ambience and charm. Maret, the innkeeper, is so welcoming and prepared a lovely breakfast served in her attractive dining room. Our room was inviting and so comfortable. A great find on a quiet country road, but so near Kinderhook and other interesting places.

WeI had a wonderful stay at Mile Hill B&B. Whenever we travel we seek out B&B's for lodging and have done so in Ireland, Scotland and many parts of the US. Maret's hospitality, her warm presence and of course Oden the resident cat. Accomodations were excellent and our breakfast most tasty. A gracious host and a first class person to have met. What an excellent find. Will return for two nights in spring of 2014.

Room Tip: Two rooms available both offer fine comfort. We were in larger room with attached luxurious bath.

An unexpected jewel set amidst a sylvan, vintage NY landscape where in the chill of a color-filled autumn weekend the heavens laid their embroidered cloth.

Maret, the host, was genuinely welcoming with an obvious passion for the comfort of her guests and seeing to their needs. She truly cared about her B&B, her community and all which her historic village has to offer.

The Mile Hill B&B is a vintage 1852 farmhouse exquisitely restored in all aspects. The bed was very comfortable, and the delicious organic breakfasts took advantage of local farms and produce. Everything was so tastefully presented.

I was there for a family birthday. It was so easy to be seduced by the kind of ambiance and charm where peace comes dropping slow.

Absolutely recommended!

My wife and I Discovered Mile Hill Bed and Breakfast while planning a getaway weekend exploring the culturally and historically rich area around Kinderhook, NY. Our journey led us down a country road to a beautifully restored home that seems to typify the best of what the area has to offer. Our host, Maret, welcomed us and easily made us feel at home as if we had been old friends. We appreciated her insights and knowledge of the local region advising our weekend itinerary. The accommodations are tasteful and comfortable with the added bonus of artfully good breakfasts featuring delicious pancakes from an old family recipe. Everything a stress free stay should be. We will be glad to change our status to that of repeat customers in the future!
