This inn is very eclectic. You never know who you will meet - artist, musician, trapeze star, or opera star. The decor is all over the place but fun. The inn is clean and the grounds are gorgeous. The managers of the inn are very efficient, helpful and friendly - And, the breakfast is always excellent!

I stayed with some friends on a bike trip through the Hudson valley. The staff were very friendly and the basement room was large and comfortable for our group. Breakfast was healthy and delicious. The building is about 150 years old and has a charm that is hard to find. Coffee on the porch is quite nice.

This place exists in the future. Do not mistake the scene at one stuck in the past, or any object as a knick-knack. Everything has its purpose and this is no place for nostalgia. You may want to stage a site-specific, interactive work of Moose Murders, or dress up as old southern gentry, but you would miss the point of what could be, and is to be. This is where you plan, eat buttery pancakes and watch the sun set over the ice on the Hudson. You will not be doomed to repeat history, you will be inspired to make it.

We have visited twice for weekends (once in winter, and again in the summer) and enjoyed visiting this parallel existence.

Super nice people are running this unusual and unique place right on the Hudson. Excellent breakfast with local baked goods and produce was personally served whenever people trickled down. This is no standard bed and breakfast. It's eclectic, not posh, and has a ton of character. Online pix fail to convey atmosphere. Do not expect central air, great showers, or anything motel-like. DO expect laid back atmosphere, a willingness to share the fridge and any place you'd like to sit on the nice grounds. Porch with river view was divine place to read. Bed super comfortable. Commuter rail is loud but didn't ultimately bother us. We'd stay again. Room 1 rocks.
