It was a little tricky to find, but we're glad we did. It is a walk/stroll, not a hike, but really enjoyable. I highly recommend you do the web-based guide that is advertised on the path - it made the walk so much more interesting. Whether you park there or not, at the north end of the trail be sure to walk over to the post office, which doubles as a consignment shop. It is charming and we picked up several nice items at a very reasonable price.

If you'd like a meandering walk in the woods with the sounds of a babbling brook with small waterfalls, try this one. It is full of history along the way, as some of the ruins of past mills powered by the water of the Skaneateles Creek can be seen off the path. Very relaxing--no motorized vehicles are permitted. Great easy walk for anyone, especially families.

Nice, easy walk along a wide, well-groomed trail. You can park at either end. Explore the short turn-offs that take you to water. Look for the "relic" stump (locals we ran into told us about it) - in front of a bench at one of the turn-offs - where hikers place pieces of metal (from the old railroad tracks and/or mill buildings?) they have collected along the way. Make sure to take one with you - apparently it's a tradition.

The trail goes along an old railroad track. It is flat, with a few side trails to the water. This was an old milling area. It is quiet, easy, and about 9/10 of a mile.

We walk two miles every day and prefer relatively flat terrains. This trail was perfect for us. It is 1.6 miles (round trip) - we back-tracked to make the hike at least two miles. The setting is beautiful, walking on a nice shaded track along a creek with interesting ruins to see. We needed GPS to find it - the signs on Jordan were inadequate. We used it twice while visiting Skaneateles for five days in mid-July (a hot week) and will use it again next year when we are there again.
