Nice fresh salads and Home made cakes. Go for mediterian salad. The best recomendation is number of people who are eating them...

It's difficult enough to find a vegetarian or vegan friendly location. Add to that limitations on payment options and it just gets frustrating. Drove 30 minutes out of my way to find this location to only be turned away because they do NOT accept American Express.

First visit to Rosendale, but it's a must visit if you like welcoming small towns that aren't overrun with upscale shops. Cafe is right on main street as you come in from the west on 213. Old Victorian commercial building. Enter from the spacious parking lot via a ramp if you will, and for my creeky bones a bonus. Large dining room with windows on 2 sides, a bar, and old fashioned kitchen tables. Waitress greeted us and provided menus. There are also daily specials. Many (but not all) dishes are vegetarian, vegan or gluten free and the menu clearly states that. I started with the mushroom barley soup which tasted like homemade. Followed that up with a mushroom corn quesadilla (I love mushrooms) with a salsa on the side. Unfortunately, the salsa was quite cold and that drifted over to the edges of the quesadilla, but overall it was good. To drink, a coconut limeade that was very creamy but refreshing on a warm day. We were there on a Friday afternoon and the room was not crowded but appeared to have a number of local folks there for lunch. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and checked back regularly to see to our needs. Enough choices on this menu at reasonable prices to make a second and a third trip.

Food and service at this restaurant were very good. I had the ravioli and found it to be excellent. Bread and salad that came with it were also very good. I highly recommend this reasonably priced, pleasant restaurant which seems to be open all day, not just at the fashionable hours.

The best part about the Rosendale Café is the fresh, fresh food and the casual atmosphere. Staff is genuine, friendly, and informative. This is a casual place, not high end service. Food is tasty and filling because it is so fresh and flavorful. They have a nice selection of small and micro brewery beers and wines. This is a great place for healthy food and enjoying great local art displays in a friendly, warm atmosphere!
