Quiet, clean, well appointed, friendly and helpful. I booked Fiddler’s Farmehouse during my workshop at Omega Institute because Omega was full. However, it was so nice and so convenient, I may stay here again when I return to Omega just because. Highly recommended.
We spent a week at Fiddler's Farmhouse with another couple and enjoyed the privacy and peaceful location of this early 1800s updated farmhouse. With 2 bedrooms and 1 bath upstairs and 1 bedroom and 1 bath downstairs, plus living room and kitchen, it was spacious for 2 couples. The stairs are a bit narrow going upstairs - typical in older homes. There is a modern washer-dryer in the downstairs bathroom (which is down the hall from the bedroom). Bedrooms are good size. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed for light meals. There was also a starter of coffee & teas and basic spices, paper supplies and wraps. The Farmhouse is set off a rural paved road and is very quiet with a large mowed yard front and back. Well-kept farms and homes are spaced out in the area. The front porch, small covered area with picnic table, and the chairs set near the stream are comfortable. It had a clean grill and charcoal. It is centrally located - about 8-10 miles from the towns of Rhinebeck, Millbrook, Hyde Park, & Red Hook - a good central location about 15-20 minutes drive to each. There is a general store that serves a basic breakfast/lunch just 1/2 mile up the road and the Omega Institute that serves mostly vegetarian meals under 1 mile in the opposite direction. It is managed by the Olde Rhinebeck Inn staff and was very clean and cute, but does not include the "& Breakfast" that the Inn is known for. The manager Cindy was very helpful with restaurants, local events and farmers markets, and shopping advice and responding to our requests/questions throughout the week.
