Three years ago, over half the greens were is some state of disrepair, the fairways were tattered, and there were better places to spend your golf dollar. It seems that the club has a new greenskeeper and the place has completely turned around. Fairways are terrific, greens are terrific, and the sixteenth hole, a par three with spectacular views of Long Island Sound, is one of the great holes in the Northeast. I was able to get around in just over four hours. There have been a number of public courses on the east end of Long Island that have either closed or gone private leaving the number of choices somewhat limited. It's nice to see the course at Islands End in better shape than it has ever been. I'll be back.
