We were in Santorini for two weeks, eating out twice a day, and can say - hand on heart - that Candouni is the best restaurant on the island. Everything about it is exceptional and you have to pop in at least once during your stay. Love it!

Our other joint first is Tranquilo in Perissa. Two very different dining experiences but top marks all round!

I don’t usually review restaurants but this is the exception! This is a family run restaurant and we feel it! I loved it, it is not commercial, it is providing Santorini produced food! They don’t try to serve you food if it is not ready pré marinated even it is on the menu, they want quality food in the plate before anything else! It is like coming to eat at home! They have the potential to expend and become commercial but that is not what they want! They want to remain small and authentic! I am French and in the hospitality industry in Cape Town South Africa and I appreciate more than anything this type of places! Authentic, not pretentious and real! The owner was absolutely fab with our kids who are difficult when it comes to eating and managed to make them eat real good food! I will certainly be back if I ever get the chance to visit this beautiful island! Simply good food!

After recommendations for many restaurants from our hotel reception, we thought we should seek a good yet simple greek restaurant for our dinner, so we went in search for Candouni which was not facing the caldera. The restaurant is quite famous as we were directed to the same even when asked around the street corner.
When we finally found the restaurant (and that was quite quick!), the ambience was very welcoming, and we had a great delicious Greek dinner with live music playing at the background! Next day we went to another restaurant for dinner, but we regret that we did not go to Candouni again...
Will recommend it for the excellent ambience and delicious Greek Food!

We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant and while dining we had the pleasure of listening
to two gentlemen playing and singing authentic Greek songs. And on top of that the food was delicious and the location, a charming little street, right down the street from, "The Ship Builders" home. You will not be disappointed!

We tried Candouni on during our stay in Oia, and we were absolutely not disappointed! The food was delicious, the atmosphere charming, the portions were not too big (although if you order many small plates, you may be bringing some leftovers back with you!), and there was a nice selection of dishes to choose from. The service was very friendly, and, we liked it so much, we returned the next night, when there was live Greek music, performed by 2 very talented musicians. Reservations recommended, as it gets quite busy. While no view of the caldera, the food and service more than make up for that.
