Located on the main pedestrian path on Oia, this place is well worth a visit and we left with appreciative smiles.
To start with the location up high with glass windows and nice decor is perfect. The service is the next major part that was spot on - friendly and attentive with english spoken very well and recommendations. And finally the food was delicious. We got the fried squid which was tender and the pork and lamb for mains which were both wondergully tasty. Then there was the desserts which were homemade pastries. My husband had the cheesecake which was creamy and one of the bests he has had and i tried the chocolate tart which was like a ferrero roche mousse - i loved it. They also offered complimentary tea/coffee which was a lovely touch.
We really enjoyed our meal here and whilst we were here in off peak and later at night, I'd suggest booking here if you were to come in Summer or earlier in the day.

We dined here at the recommendation of a friend as a good place to eat and watch the sunset. While it is a nice view of the sunset, you are paying for it in the price of the food. The meal was disappointing. Very overpriced, for extremely small portions of mediocre (at best) tasting food. After reading some of the other reviews now, I can see I am not alone. Wish I would have read them first. Live and learn I guess. Not worth it in my opinion.

Der Sir or Madam
We are truly sorry that we could not meet your expectations and were not completely satisfied with our dining experience. We appreciate your honesty and constructive criticism.
All comments, advises and opinions are very important for us and we take them very seriously. This is why we are so many years still in business and also so high rated in Trip Advisor.
In fact today our statistic at the Trip Advisor is :
5 stars 62%, 4 stars 27%, 3 stars 8%, 2 stars 2%, 1 star 1%
We are honored to satisfy 97% of our guests and we try very hard to satisfy also the rest 3% although sometimes we cannot make it.
We are very grateful to all of our guests who take the time to rate and help us to be always better and to improve our service and quality.
We kindly inform you that we are here since 1996 and we always try our best to satisfy and make happy our guests by giving them the highest possible quality of food and service.
We know we are not perfect. But we try always very hard to be very-very good.

We hope you have notice that a legal receipt was given to you on your table when you asked for your bill. We kindly inform you that our restaurant like the rest of the businesses belong to the group, are 100% in operation working legally. That means that unfortunately of what you pay 73% is tax, going directly to the government…….
The rest 27% suppose to cover:
The costs of the property, renovation every year, Staffs salary minimum double than the main land, or nobody come to work for season and five apartments for accommodation. Accommodation in Santorini and especially in Oia it is very expensive (if you find it) as the owners of the properties have to pay also allot for tax, property tax etc.
So now you know why you pay that much. It is not our choice if the Greek government charges our business and properties that much tax, but we have to leave with it. The cost to entertain the business and yes also for our profit, something very important to keep us alive and in business it is also included.
Please also note that our menu with our prices is hanging next to our entrance and also we bring to every customer one menu on the table as you probably have notice.
Living in Santorini - Oia is not cheap at all also for us. But I can imagine that it must be like this in every popular city like Santorini around the world…..
Sincerely
The Pelekanos Restaurant Team

We were so lucky to get the best seats in the house to catch the beautiful Santorini sunset. We arrive about 30 minutes ahead of our booking but they seated us without a fuss. Staff were warm and very friendly and the food was gorgeous. Save room for dessert though, visually they were beautiful with lovely sculptural sugar work to garnish the dishes. Well worth it. I can’t recommend this enough.

The sunset view isn’t completely interrupted though, there’s a terrace bar just ahead however, the sail shape of the canopy of the bar somehow adds something unique to the sunset. They don’t block the sun as it disappears down the horizon, if anything it adds a beautiful silhouette frame.

Wow! To start, amazing views! Best in Oia. Being vegetarian I struggle to get a nice meal out. But for the first time ever, my meal looked and tasted better than my (meat eating) husband's! He can clarify that both meals were fantastic, but mine was nicer! We had the chicken risotto and I had the veggie burgers which came out as three amazing mini veg burgers, each with a different colour bun, delicious dressing and tasty sauce! Followed by the gianduja tart, again, incredible! The staff were so friendly, one girl asking us lots of questions about where we were from and what she should visit if she ever got there. They were all very accommodating and quick to offer blankets if it gets a bit chilly!
If you ever go to Oia, make sure to make time for Pelekanos. Well worth it!

We chose this restaurant whilst on a day trip to Oia. We found a gem. From the moment asked for a table to us leaving and booking a table for later in the week the staff were just delightful. Attention to detail was impeccable. Staff made us feel at ease. We had the cheese with tomato jam and tomato balls for starter. Never tasted anything like it. The Mousaka was the best I’ve ever tasted and the fish for main was just fantastic. The wine was recommended by the waiter and it was a perfect match. To top it all the views of the Caldera were stunning especially the sunset in all its glory. The free desert just topped it off.
