We arrived in Newburgh looking for a quick dinner but wholesome and were greeted with an array of chain restaurants. But fortune was with us and we saw the Cosimo's sign. This is a full service Italian restaurant with great parking (including electric charging stations) in a small strip center on the end-cap.Once seated inside we were led through the extensive menu by our server Lisa with solid recommendations on the various preparations, allowed substitutions and portion sizes (all large).
We chose the wines by the glass and found the pours sizeable and properly priced for the respective quality. My wife chose the snapper in tomato olive caper sauce with polenta and grilled vegetables. The vegetables were flavorful, not over-cooked and well seasoned. The snapper was fresh and the sauce tangy. Polenta is an acquired taste for we Southerners! I chose the herbed grilled swordfish with rice cake and a tomato spinach salad. The six ounces of snapper were delicious, the rice cake filling and the salad had a nice lemon flavored oil. Bread service was more than adequate. One of the great surprises was the extensive desert menu from which we chose the Limoncello tartufo which was vanilla ice cream with lemon shavings as a crust and lemon pieces in the bottom (very refreshing).
