If you are ever in the area on college visits, meetings, or (heading south) to NYC - great location for a quick bite. Staff is engaging and you can either sit at the bar or table. Decent selection of food.

The Beechmont is a neighborhood staple for good reason. Excellent staff, amazing food (especially the wings and burgers!) and a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Wanted to get together for a meal with family and, as several of us are Iona grads from way-back, decided to meet at the Beechmont. Good news from the wayback machine: it's a lot cleaner and brighter (but seems smaller) than it was in the 1980s! :-) We were there on a Sunday evening in January, so naturally the TVs were blasting the NFL playoff game and we couldn't hear each other until the game was over and the game crowd filed out. The management had taken a large reservation (for 12) from us, had the table ready on time, and were not at all phased when we apologized that we would only be 9 after all. The service was attentive -- it almost seemed like two servers were competing to wait on us! -- even if the kitchen was a little slow on some meals. The food ranged from average to so-so. You will find burgers, wings, wraps, salads, soups, sandwiches, and stuff like that. They have a few limited "dinner entrees" but nothing to write home about. There do not seem to be nightly specials (or we were not told about them). For the most part, the food seemed a bit overpriced for what you got ($12.45 for a nothing special bacon cheeseburger with sauteed mushrooms and onions with fries). A Long Island Ice Tea was $10. We were clearly a group wanting to chat and spend a little time together and the staff did not rush us -- after a couple of hours together we asked THEM for the check -- nor did they automatically tack on a large tip (as we always do, we left our own nice tip for their trouble). Aside from the cheering NFL fans, the crowd was mixed in age and easy-going for the rest of the time we were there. The front part of the space has a bar (maybe the same from the '80s!) along one side and some tables along the other side. The back room has a number of moveable tables that the staff used effectively to mix and match in the right numbers for guests. It wasn't a culinary adventure but it was a nice experience for the extended family.

This Tavern that converts to a college bar in the wee hours of the night is a great place to take your family for dinner. The food is outrageously good- my husband believes they have the BEST wings in Westchester County even though he's tried them all - even candlelight. I like the buffalo chicken salad. They have wonderful choices for our kids that they serve up with coloring books To keep them happy. With Tvs all around, its a great place to come to watch sporting events. The best part is the General Manager, Rob, who always recognizes us and the very patient "Bebe" - a waitress from heaven.
