My room in this house just outside the commercial center of the college town of New Paltz, in New York's Hudson River Valley, offered a pleasant and unique place to stay for several weeks. The nicely furnished bedroom and ensuite bathroom was clean, with plenty of closet space, great wi-fi, and a small tv that was hooked up to Roku (but I did not feel the need to use it). During the day the house is used as an office for a small landscaping firm. The 2-3 few employees (including the house owner/host) are in the house from about 9 am to 4 pm and are as friendly and helpful as possible, and although it may feel a bit strange to be sleeping on the second floor, where the company offices are located, it is a good situation, not a negative one. The fully equipped kitchen downstairs is basically not used during the day or evening,or weekends, so it is perfect for preparing meals and at any hour of the day or evening. Parking is just behind the house, and the location is perfect....a few minutes drive to a major university, plenty of college-town restaurants and shops, and close to several supermarkets, movie theaters, hiking and biking trails, rock climbing and plenty of nature just 10-15 minutes drive in the Catskill mountains. Buses to New York City have numerous departures from New Paltz, and New York State Thruway entrance to NYC and other upstate destinations is just minutes from the house. This is a unique and enjoyable location.
I was booked for the room over the course of 5 months, This meant I dealt with cold weather, winter storms and very warm climate. Throughout the sat Liz was a great hosts, they would ensure the drive way was paved, they even dug out and cleaned off my car for me.
The communication was always prompt, any issue that came up was dealt with quickly and the cleanliness was top notch, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a convenient location with impeccable hosts.
