I start this by saying that this is a first for me, writing a review for a horrible meal. I feel terrible since I'm sure the owners are nice people but it is tempered by wanting to save som time effort and $$ of other unsuspecting diners! The only reason why this is getting 2 circles instead of 1 is because the waitress was sweet. Where to start? We were thrilled to hear this formerly outstanding restaurant had reopened. That's where the thrilling part ends. Friday night in the summer and we were the only table In the place except for one person eating at the bar. Under aged waitress had to go to the kitchen to fetch the cook each time we wanted a glass of wine. Poor girl had just started, had never waited tables before and had no experience with food/ appetizers or beverages. Medium rare strip steak orders came to the table grey and lifeless. McDonalds would probably prepare a more flavorful steak. The medium served medium rare tenderloins were better, but then anything would have been a step above. Over cooked snap peas and corn on the cob with either fries or baked potatoes were the only available accompaniments. Dinner was so bad that no one wanted to take a chance on dessert so we tried to order after dinner drinks and martinis. When none of the usual top or middle shelf fare were available, the poor waitress fled to the kitchen to grab the the cook, who turned out to be the owner. She came out all smiles and suggested that "give her a chance to convince us, people come in all the time wanting that top shelf stuff and when she makes them her own concoctions, they find them way better". Um, no. Sorry. Ugh. Be warned, and go anywhere else for a nice steak dinner.

Don't believe Yep and Trip Advisor notes that say the Pillars is closed -- it OPEN under new name and new management.
Don't be sidetracked by the reviews that say they are closed -- they are not. Robin is the new owner and is doing a great job managing the restaurant. It is called the Pillars Steakhouse, they do have a Face Book page that keeps things on track. There were four of us to celebrate my sister's birthday. Upon arrival, Robin immediately told us that her waitress had called in sick, there was another table of 3 in the corner. We were in no hurry, so we said that was OK. Robin was hostess, waitress, bartender, and chef until another waitress - Tara - came in to help. 2 glasses of Pino Noir, 1 regular martini, 1 range infused vanilla martini, and we were set to look at the menu. Robin brought our drinks, and a dish of Gardien - a bowl of pickled veggies and a loaf of bread. For apps, we shared steamers in a garlic white wine broth, Caesar salad, 2 regular salads with house Balsamic dressing. All good, especially the bread which we soaked in the clam broth. Main meals were a grilled Salmon, 2 Filet tenderloins, and a Sirloin steak. All were served by Tara, and came with a H-U-G-E baked potato, which was delicious. Grilled snow peas rounded out our plates. Everything was cooked to perfection and we were all happy campers. Robin apologized for the beginning of the meal with no waitress and her running 3 jobs before Tara came in, but Tara took up the slack immediately and even the other table of diners were happy as they left. We had no room for dessert at all.

The Pillars Steakhouse is GREAT for lunch, dinner, or a late night drink! The owner is very sweet and can accommodate a vegan diet! Steaks, burgers and seafood are top notch as well, everything is fresh and delicious! After your first visit, you'll definitely come back for more!

Terrible cuts of steak at the top of the line pricing. Waitstaff was rude and not accommodating. Drinks were watered down and overpriced. Thanks but no thanks!
