Fully stocked store, bathrooms, parking and knowledgeable guides for area hikes. Many people park outside the gate and walk in to avoid paying the parking fee. Pay if you are going to use the facilities! There are several trail heads in the resort. You can access heart lake for a cool down swim after your hike.

We stopped by the ADK visitor center and got terrific information and suggestions based on our interests. As a result, we joined the club. Excellent. Recommend to all hikers of any ability.

Wonderful view of the high peaks of NY from the south. You pull into a large parking area surrounded by greenery and an info kiosk. In the cetetr is a display of the peaks on plexiglass. You can look at the actual peak through it's plexi representation and then look down for name and elevation While here take the road near the entrance to its end and the Hudson River Info Center.
