We stayed at this hotel on the 6th day of a car trip from our home in Florida to Canada. What a mistake! It was the most expensive hotel on the trip ($500 with taxes for a very inadequate room, less than we paid at a Ritz Carlton property for a suite) and the the worst hotel of the trip. In fact, it was the worst hotel I have stayed at in many years, including low budget properties.

To Begin:
-No doorman or luggage assistance
-No valet parking
-A full parking lot with no spaces for self park.

Not a good start - Wait till you hear about the room:
-Small and cheaply furnished
-One tiny sink in the bathroom
A king bed that was shoved against a wall so that we both had to climb in from the same side.
-A thermostat that was located on the wall where the bed was shoved against the wall, resulting in a need to climb over the bed to reach it.
-When reaching the thermostat, it kept reverting to freezing temperatures throughout the night.
-As there was no other place for the coffee maker, it was placed on the desk, making the desk largely unusable.

They claimed a state of the art fitness center. Nonsense - While I can't speak for all of the equipment, their recumbant bikes were a Life Fitness model that hasn't been produced in years and is decidedly inferior to current models.

To top it off, the hotel was hosting an out of control convention. Drinks were spilled in the elevators and, in the morning, food was scatted everywhere in the public rooms. The final touch - A couple of guys sitting at the main entrance quaffing beer at 6:00 AM.

A truly dreadful experience.

Room tip: Stay in a different hotel!

Dear Dawg_Lover1,
We thank you for your review and your feedback regarding your recent visit. We do examine all of our guest’s reviews carefully, and use them as a tool to consistently improve our services and products. In reading your review, we were a bit perplexed regarding some of your concerns. Being very familiar with all of our guest rooms, I am not sure what room you could have been staying in that had the bed up against the wall. None of our guest rooms, particularly the king rooms have the design you have described in your feedback as to the placement of the bed. With that, we are saddened by the fact that your stay was not satisfactory perhaps due to the higher rate during Cornell University move in weekend. As mentioned earlier, we do take the feedback as a tool to improve every aspect of our service. Therefore we will have step by step directions about how to use a two button climate control thermostat for guest that may have the need. Also I can assure that all of our exercise equipment is just over a year old, and of health club quality, as it has been confirmed by all previous guests. We will also examine the location of the in room coffee machine to see if a different place would be more suitable than a desk. Our parking lot is being reconfigured to ensure our guest’s parking needs are met. Although there is a parking garage across the main entrance of the hotel available at this time which is free of charge on weekends and $7.00 per day during weekdays. I believe the parking at the Ritz is a bit more expensive. We will ensure going forward that our security is on top of other guests that may be drinking or perhaps having an enjoyable stay.
We certainly appreciate your feedback and perhaps next time you are in our area, we can offer a more suitable tailored rate for your stay in a non-patio king suite that you stayed in during your last visit.
Thank you again.

There are two types of rooms here. There are the nice rooms they show on the website, and then there is the rooms from a Wildwood Motor Lodge. We got the Wildwood Motor Lodge. The room was nice, however, some things were left to be desired. Firstly, room service is painfully slow. We asked for more washcloths, and they came an hour later when we didn't need them anymore. At least the employees were nice, and the front desk had free cookies. But you need your room key to do anything around here.

Room tip: Conserve, get lucky, there's always the gas station next door for items

Stayed on visit to Ithaca College.

Very nice facility. Large well appointed room. Very friendly staff. Convenient location to downtown.

Easy to get to the college.

We were in north tower which was a bit inconvenient.....very little parking available.

Yes, on the map this pleasant hotel looks to be a little out of town. But Ithaca is a small town. Ithaca College is super close.
But the convenience extends inside. Fast check in and faster check out. Nice, easy to access breakfast. Well designed and equipped suite-rooms, and super staff. All in all a well-managed property.

Hotel Ithaca is in an excellent location for visiting Ithaca College and Cornell University. It is 5 minutes from each. The hotel is a block away from Ithaca Commons so restaurants, shops and activities are a short walk away. The room was clean. The only issue: The pillows had a sour mildew smell to them & they got flat quickly. There was a hairball under the covers & the top comforters were stained. Despite this, I would recommend the hotel & would stay here again.
