“Spicy cuisine great taste”

Hunan Kitchen of Grand Sichuan

While so many restaurant in Flushing, not everyone is really good. This is a very nice one. The materials are consistent with the restaurants in China. It is tasty if you are big fan for spicy food such as Hunan or Sichuan cuisine.

We came off the subway and started walking past so many great smelling places, but we are happy we kept going. The portions were huge. The authenticity was refreshing, and the spicyness was out front. If you do not like spice, be sure to tell them. The flavor is rich and full. The service was fast. I saw only locals while there. They deliver and seem to have a robust bussiness in this sector. Note, the address is 42-47 Main street not 4247. The whole fish is the best dish on the menu!!! Bring friends to help you make the cook happy!

So far we've been here only three times, but have plans for return visits. Our enthusiasm is based on a couple of excellent dishes- their bracing Sauteed Pea Shoots, and complex Lamb with Cumin Flavor. Dan Dan noodles were good, and so was a chicken dish covered with a mountain of red peppers. Back for more before too long!

Went here this past Friday with a couple of friends, because one of them had been recommended it by another friend. First off, hunan cuisine is spicy (i.e hot) food, and I mean spicy! Two of us can't really handle that much heat, so it was a little late by the time we realized it (completely our fault because we should have checked it out before going there, and so that's not why I gave it 3 stars). The food itself was quite delicious, but there was a lingering aftertaste in my mouth after a few bites and it was a really strange sensation (I'm guessing it's msg). I ate some of the left overs the next day, and again had the same sensation after a few bites. The service from staff was a little below average. These are the reasons for the 3 stars.

I highly recommend the vermicelli noodles, string beans and pork and Mao style pork. Egg rolls are excellent and Chinese egg plant is a favorite. A must eat at restaurant, don't be fooled by the humble attitude, they are the best at what they do.
