I've been here on numerous occasions and have found it to be a reliably good experience. The spicy broth is very tasty and the assortment of meats and vegetables are also very pleasing. You can get half spicy and half mild or all mild broth if that's your pleasure. The atmosphere here is a little cold, but the service is just fine. It's a great place to come on a chilly night to warm up with some tasty food. There is a large parking lot across the street...so pay for 2 hours and don't worry about it!

Going here in combination with a foot massage afterward was a great date night. We had beef, lamb and scallops in our hotpot along with bok choy, udon noodles, lotus root, and a couple of times of mushrooms. If we went again, we would skip the scallops, they didn't take up much of the flavor of the soup. For two people, two orders of meat was more than enough, along with a few plates of veggies. We also had the mongolian meat pie, which was on the greasy side. The best of the night was the lamb skewers though, so be sure not to miss these. The flavored tea was sweet but good, and for dessert a yam pancake with bean paste was also on the oily side and we would skip getting it again. Expect to pay for two people around $50 depending on what you order.

Nice to have hot pot HOT food in winter. Nicely prepared food for you to cook quickly. I prefer the original soup base over the spicy base. Walking distance from Subway Line 7 Main Street (last) station.

Looked for this restaurant based on "word of mouth" recommendation. For the hot pot: you choose a type of broth (e.g., vegetarian vs. chicken and spicy vs. non-spicy). Then you add vegetables, meat (or fish or tofu), or noodles. The menu is a la carte and you pay for each item--so you can enjoy a simple, cheaper hot pot with few ingredients, or a more complex and expensive hot pot with lots of ingredients. You cook the ingredients at your table; there are written instructions re: how long to cook the various items. As mentioned by other reviewers, there is a "sauce bar" in the back of the restaurant. We chose to add pumpkin, bok choy, enoki mushrooms, thick noodles and fish cake to the delicious broth. Ingredients were fresh and excellent quality, and staff were very friendly (though the restaurant was busy and some staff had limited English facility). I didn't find the bill expensive but we ordered a meatless hot pot (about $15/person left us full). There can be a wait for tables.
